Not really, noThat's maybe true if this board was the only place it was mentioned.
But the pressure from AFL House around Rendell was pretty widely covered, from memory.

Had an injury that hampered his offseason this year as well. All indications point to that we shouldn't expect to see anything stand out from him until several rounds into the season assuming there's no more issues for him.I think that sometimes people should look behind the onfield and remember this bloke is only human. Let’s have a bit closer look
Looked ok at times in 2020 when the crows finished bottom. Had some fine moments taking solid marks - also he was taught some hard lessons which is fair enough. For a key defender in a bottom team you probably tick him.
Then the off field. His father has a serious health scare and the virus impacts cross state travel. Kid doesn’t know what to do. Get a trade home? Stay? Lot going on. Terrible pre season and of course 2021 is a write off.
No more excuse ok - BUT - judge him as a 2nd year player now. Not a 3rd year. When the drafters make a choice they can’t know the unexpected off field stuff might happen. He probably needs another 1/2 year at least in Sanfl
Wouldn't you think you'd want to play him to try and get a 4th rounder for him?
Got delisted free agent written all over him, clubs know they won't have to give up s**t for himI'd rather play key backs who have a future if that's our goal. After all, 4th rounders are piss easy to obtain if we need it.

Don't put a line thru him just yet he will Play AFL this year and will surprise a few,Yes McAsey was highly rated by draft pundits, so was Fogarty. I don't see that as a fair reason for drafting them. A bad pick is a bad pick. I get no comfort out of knowing some media hacks got it wrong too.
That looks like a big dose of wishful thinking, he’s shown zero to give you that confidenceDon't put a line thru him just yet he will Play AFL this year and will surprise a few,
Watch his games closer, not so much on the box but on the field, he improving,That looks like a big dose of wishful thinking, he’s shown zero to give you that confidence
Clearly you didn't read the draft recruiter notes.....hasn't developed as much as we've hoped.Exactly…the only attribute he has of being an elite key defender is that he is tall and has a longish kick.
Every other attribute is realistically below average (kicking, speed, one-on-one defending, effort, polish etc)
Where as Murray, while raw and lacks polish, ticks way more boxes and wasn’t even drafted in his year.
Oh dear…you clearly haven’t watched any of his SANFL games then!Clearly you didn't read the draft recruiter notes.....hasn't developed as much as we've hoped.
Strengths: Intercept marking, reads of the drop of the ball, reads the ball early in flight, contested marking, marking on the lead, aerial marking, attack on ball aerially, one-touch overhead mark, closing speed, leap, clean at ground level, aggressive spoiling, reliable kick out in front of targets to lead onto, courageous, tackling, versatility to hold down key position posts at either end though looks at his best in defence
Like I said, he hasn't yet developed as much as we hoped......Oh dear…you clearly haven’t watched any of his SANFL games then!
Jones has good speed and a decent kick , MCAsey has nothing .Yep, he looked really good in U18, he just has gone backwards at a rate of knots since we drafted him.
I think Jones was a miracle that he recovered from a very slow start, I'm not sure if McAsey can do the same
Don't put a line thru him just yet he will Play AFL this year and will surprise a few,

Yeh you would think our drafters when drafting would have that list you mention above of all attributes required and if you didn’t tick the main ones required for your position then you wouldn’t get drafted . He doesn’t have these now so it’s unlikely he had them in under 18s regardless of how good his under 18 year was .Exactly…the only attribute he has of being an elite key defender is that he is tall and has a longish kick.

If we had those attributes he'd be an AA standard key back.Which recruiter wrote those notes?
Clearly he hasn't developed them consistently to the AFL level yet but he still has those ability which made him the best KPD of his draft year and in the first few games of 2020 we saw his one grab contested marking ability. If we had those attributes he'd be an AA standard key back.
The rumours about his off field issues must be really difficult.
what are those rumours then?If we had those attributes he'd be an AA standard key back.

I think they are well documented.what are those rumours then?

Hamish just has to go, way too many misses with decent picksThree years in, the guy can barely get a touch in the SANFL, has no obvious elite physical traits, and is being comfortably outperformed by a terrible rejected forward and a guy we took as a supplementary rookie
