Hahaha absolute GEM of a post blues4flag :thumbsu:

Well done on exposing the North supporters trying to sell us their duds, made me laugh :)

He is nowhere near as bad as mentioned and it looks as though there are a few with an agenda. Tally up the names in those posts and I think you will find the same people over and over again. Laidley's admitted lack of fitness developement would play a big role in the poor year that a big mobile unit like Brown has had. Don't forget that this guy was a first round draft pick and he HAS played some good footy. I think he has gone stale under Laidley.

If you lost Brown you'd have to rely on those two duds Hay and Watt to hold your defence together.

They won't let him go.

I cannot believe that people are even considering trading Fisher for Carlton. Some of you are GROSSLY overrating Leigh Brown - even Kangaroo supporters think he is a dud. Fisher is younger with much more talent. Don't believe? Why not have a look at some threads from the North Melbourne board:

Kangaroo supporters horrified of news that Brown is close to re-signing with the club:

Kangaroos supporters disgusted with Brown performances

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264541&highlight=brown

Kangaroo supporters fearing that Brown will play - think him playing is tanking:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264316&highlight=brown

Supporters don't want Brown at North next year - one even offering to give him up for nothing:

More on horrible Brown performances (plus a couple others)
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263236&highlight=brown

Suggestions that Jonathan Hay is better than Brown:eek: :
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=246916&highlight=brown

More proof of how bad Roo supporters think Brown is:

Need I say anymore:confused:? Harding is the Kangaroos version of Livingston - a high draft pick who has achieved nothing (although, in fairness he had a couple reasonable seasons - maybe another Hay:p). Anyway, the last thing we need is another mature dud from the Roos - espically at the expense of Fisher who has talent and ability - and unlike Brown supporters aren't disgusted when he's playing.
That's gold! :thumbsu:

Word is that Hay is a goner, and Watt has been good when he doesn't have to worry about a KPP. I would definitely NOT swap Watt for Fisher. With Petrie and Watt kicking on, and none of Petrie, Watt or Brown being able to hold down full back permanently, it makes it a squezze to fit all three in and Brown is the expendable one. Joel Perry will probably step up as full back unless we can draft one. I am not overly bothered if we keep him and I believe a better fitness preparation and possibly a new coach will see him become a solid footballer.

Brown may win your B&F (but that's not saying much). Joking.

Some of you suggesting that trade is tempting got me laughing for a while, nice try cobba. :thumbsu:

And well done, B4F.

Brown is a dud, simple.

Sorry, Harding was a rookie. :)

Yea of little faith:D

I think you are being a bit harsh on the poor bloke:eek: . He showed enough with Freo to suggest he could be a good player and you generally don’t lose ability just confidence. Sometimes players just don’t work out at a club and North haven’t settled on a position for him. He has played all over the place and I reckon fullback is his best spot. I just don’t think he is fit either(needs to lose at least five kilos) and if he did lose a few excess kilos it would help his mobility.

I don’t think either player has played as many good games for their respective clubs as they would like so a swap with both on 200k doesn’t hurt anyone. Fish is handy as a third marking forward and does have good hands, but he is not a key position player. Not to mention being injury prone because of his body shape. Those little legs look like they could snap at any time:D .

Brown with a bit more fitness work into him could do a job on the power forwards thus releasing T-Bird to CHB and Lance to the forward line and I think that would make us a more dangerous team. Brown couldn’t play on the mobile full forwards, but then we could move him to a pocket on a better match-up for him. I really don’t think it was such a crazy idea from Carlton’s point of view and makes more sense than some of the deals we have actually done rather than our blowing wind on a forum:D .

North Melbourne can hand over their first round pick (pick3) or McIntosh and pick3. Take it or leave it.

Go dream! Pick 3............ PFFT McIntosh.................... pfft

id rather fisher in the team, as he is a much better player overall and a bit of practice with kicking over the preseason will work wonders... 35+ next yr fishh

Mckernan did!!

Teague did.

Seriously though, Browny just had a **** year. He might well get back to his 2003-2004 form (which isn't too bad) and he's still young so he can improve (a bit).

But he's not worth, Fisher. Maybe a second rounder?

Great trade for both teams, even better for the Blues if youre not able to keep Thorton

Thoughts??

If all we want is a big body in defence we would take one of the Clokes for nothing and keep Fisher.:thumbsd:
