I wonder if he's got a VERY close friend named Patrick Fitzjack

Bit surprised with the speculation of him playing CHB.
As soon as we picked him up I thought potential replacement for Hale.

What I can tell you is that Clarko told him irrespective of what happens during his time at Hawthorn, he will leave a better player than when he came!

Reading between the lines, I thought that was rather interesting.

At a push he could play tall at both ends which is pretty handy if we rack up a injuries to our defensive talls as we did in the middle of 2014.

I am sure that the primary consideration was providing the list with an AFL ready back up ruckman as Pitto is a long way off that standard. With Cegs being a bit injury prone and McEvoy having difficultly focusing and keep up consistently good form we need a third ruck to maintain some pressure on the incumbents and to cover the inevitable injuries.

Geez X, are you some kind of closet masochist?

In my years of watching football, the least entertaining side to watch has been Melbourne. There was that brief period under Northey and another with Daniher as coach, but they remain the least watchable team in my lifetime.
I don't quote myself as a rule, but I do find it ironic, given my comments above, that half of our coaching panel (Clarkson, Bruce, Ratten, Yze, Neitz) spent some time at Melbourne.

That half is actually 4/5.... That's a hell of a lot of fail that has donned the brown and gold and turned (or will turn) into silverware.

No, it's 5. Ratten was at Melbourne as an assistant coach for at least one year.

+ Fagan, Viney

It's David Hale all over again, but cost us even less

Beg to differ. David Hale was a top 10 pick in the 2001 super draft and Fitzpatrick was pick 50 in the less than glamorous 2009 draft. Hale had a lot more talent and potential reflected in him being targeted and traded for whereas Jack was delisted by Melbourne after they realised he had no trade value. We picked him up as insurance in case one of Ceglar or McEvoy go down and as a stop gap until Pitt is ready.

Having said all that, I'd love nothing more than to eat my words and see Jack become a Hawthorn premiership player.

JJ Abrams: I've been waiting for you Lucas. We meet at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but a learner now I am the master.
Lucas: Only a master of cheap nostalgia and fan service, JJ

I'd bE very surprised if JFP spends any time in the backline other than to 'drop in the hole', as a ruckman ofc, IMO.

Did well there this year at CHB. Would like to see us give him a year there...

He was obviously picked up for a reason, looking forward to seeing him in action as im sure we will be seeing him at various points of the season, even if only to give guys like big boy or Ceglar a chop out

I don't follow the VFL but that is interesting. I'd like to see him there for a game to see how he went in AFL, skeptical though.

Let's hope Roos don't follow
