Not keen on starting a thread just for a couple of quick question so maybe you good people with good Fitzroy reference books may be able to answer these ones for me please?
Who were the players that went to the Bears from Fitzroy for the Bears inaugural season?
Who were the Fitzroy players who retired at the end of the 1986 season and was there a specific player who retired rather than go to the Bears?
Cheers.

We gave them Michael Gibson, Chris Stacey & Tony Spassopoulos. I think each club had to give them 3 players, who had played at least 1 senior game. Gibson had played 3 & Stacey & Spassopoulos 1 each. Most teams offered them players of that ilk. The Bears also helped themselves to Bernie Harris & the following season Scott McIvor. Daryl Cox also played for the Bears in their 1st season, after playing 3 seasons for Melbourne following his stint at Fitzroy.Who were the players that went to the Bears from Fitzroy for the Bears inaugural season?
Apart from the blokes, who went to the Bears, the following played their last senior games for the Roys in 1986:Who were the Fitzroy players who retired at the end of the 1986 season?

Does anyone know where I can a copy of this book? The best one I would recomend is "Fitzroy" by Dyson Hore-Lacy
It tells the story of a lot of the underhanded dealings done by the AFL.

Mighty Eagles (and fellow East Perth supporter), there are always a few Fitzroy books selling on eBay.
I had a quick look and at the moment the following books are for sale:
Fitzroy Football Club: The First One Hundred Seasons, 1883-1983
Fitzroy: For the Love of the Jumper
Miracle Match: The Day David Downed Goliath, Brunswick St, July 6, 1963 (Fitz-Geel match)
Russell Holmesby's soon-to-be-released The Death of Fitzroy Football Club is also listed.
