I read that Jarrod Molloy, the ex fitzroy brisbane player may shake injury and have a good year this year. It made me think that most of the ex fitroy players seem to have a lot of injury problems.

Could it be that when they played the final two fitzroy years that most of thm were too young and the punishment has had a detrimental effect on their careers ?

jarrod molloy had a good year in 99 as he won the lions goalkicking/ won the goal of the year and generally gained the respect he deserved with the all the 1 percenters he does off the ball. True he did have some injury trouble but this year he is ready to go at the start of the year for a change. Other Roys to have injury problems include Brad Boyd who had a long history of hamstring problems before he started at Fitzroy. Other players have generally been pretty good. Chris Johnson at the lions, Paxman at Port, Dent at the bullies, Pike at North have all been generally dependable in this regard.

Thats 5 from a squad of 40. Given that Fitzroy would have had early draft picks it's not many.

yeah fair enough but i have just picked the main ones. Your point does have some merit because some to have had injury probs eg Primus (one off incident) Chandler (one off incident), Barker (form), mellington (delisted) Wharfe (always been injury prone) Carter (form & injury prone) Bamford (form-good record with injury), Hawking (always had injury prob's at F'Roy -making comeback)the rest of that squad of 40 did not go on to other teams so had to know with those guys.

Don't forget Danny Morton. It was good to see him back again after that freak neck injury. I can't believe someone so small and slight can play in the AFL, but at the time he got injured he was providing Port with some real bite around the packs and kicking a few typical rover's goals.

With him, Paxman and Primus, Port did quite well out of the Fitzroy carve-up. John Rombotis not included!
