In the nineties we played Collingwood ten times.
Our record against them didnt end up looking too flash: 2-8 in the nineties
But on 4 occasions when The Pies beat us we were in front at three quarter time!!

Yeah we turned 'snatching defeat from the jaws of victory' into an art form.

Losing those two games in the middle of '95, to Collingwood and Richmond, really sapped the team's spirit I reckon. Didn't help Bernie's cause anyway.

That won against Richmond was extremely dissapointing.
It makes me think back to our first game in 92 vs Essendon.
Three Quarter time we led by 94 points and the crowd was in shock especially essendon(the supporters that were still at the ground). Then in the last quarter we bloody let Essendon kick 11 goals, and they only had 4 goals to three quarter time.
It turned our thrashing over them into just a miserable 52 point win.
Round 15 1992 MCG Vs Melbourne- up at the last change to be beaten by 4 goals.
Early 93 we led both the Dogs and the crows at three quarter time yet again losing.
Round 10 93 We led Essendon at three quarter time in an absolute ripper of a game and we let that slip too.
Round 5 1994?? vs Sydney Western Oval-Up by 44 points at three quarter time hold onto to win by 8 points.

Arrrgh! That Minton-Connell went beresk in the last quarter. I think we were the only mob that bloke kicked goals against.

Fitzroy definitely eased up in that game against Essendon. Our 2 best players, Roos & Lynch sat on the bench for the last quarter. There was never any chance Essendon would win the game, after we got 16 goals ahead.

Round 5 1991??? I think
Vs Footscray up by 7 points at the last break to lose by 16.
Round 1 1996
Vs Hawthorn
Up by 9 points early in last quarter, end up losing by 21 points.

We could start games badly too. Remember Bernie's first game as coach at the Western Oval against Essendon? We didn't score in the first half. I think Bernie said the scoreboard had "duck eggs".
