I don't know about you guys but these things are really bothering me.

- When high tackles are given free kicks for "slipping up" when a player tries to shrug a tackle. Personally i think it should be paid only when the opposing players head is in danger (rare unless the tackling player is trying to rip his head off) or the tackling players first contact is above the shoulder. Fix it!

- Dropping the ball isn't holding the footy anymore. Fix it!

- Players who act for free kicks like in soccer should have free kicks paid against them unless they are there as in soccer. That would stop a few germs (Wont name any names but Didak, Cloke ...:p ), and reward good honest players (Banger, Westy etc etc come to mind). Fix it!

- The new kicking in rule is crap, why do they insist on trying to change the sport? I was watching archive footy on ABC 2 the other night of a game in the Northern Territory. The skills were poor at best, the umpiring shocking, but it was lighting fast and just good honest footy. As too were the use of barrels and inside out barrels every few kicks. Trust me this game had me more excited than most of the games last week. Plus the dog on the field laying a dump in the second quarter was priceless as was the boundry umpires little dance before he chucked the ball in. Anyway point is this rule has changed the game for the worse. Can anyone honestly tell me that they don't love an honest one on one contest, tight of loose, rather than this zone footy crap. Except if Nathan Lonie or Stevie Greene were involved. Kicking in rule, BRING IT BACK!

Gee i hope we win this weekend. We nearly beat em last time we played em in Launie all bar 10 minutes of pain. Expect Bateman to carve em up he loves York Park.

There is my morning whine. I feel better now :thumbsu:

one thing i noticed about the Hawks v Rich game, was the amount of times players threw the ball as they were being tackled.

Tuck was the standout here. Everytime he was tackled , he would throw the ball in a cheap attempt to handball.

It is pathetic that the AFL now see fit to umpire a contact sport played by grown men like they are naughty school kids. It is frustrating for fans, players and coaches.
A player is going to seriously lose it one day and do a Phil Carmen on them.:D

It's just the stupidity of it that's so annoying.

Guerra is allowed to charge a bloke with a legite hip&shoulder on Richo but Roughead isn't allowed to use his body, in a way that's been down for 105 plus seasons previously, to lean into a player while attempting to mark.

Plenty of examples over the weekends games.

I still reckon Demitriou just wants the rules changed so he can make a comeback because lets face it, the squib aspect of it all is exactly the way he played the game.

The only real solution, Dermie for C.E.O of the AFL.
