The AFL today announced aradical new plan to eliminate collisions between players & umpires.
"In view of the reckless acts of certain players it has been decided we will draw a line 5m wide down the centre corridor which no player will be able to enter this will be an umpire transit lane. The public should not view this as a hinderence but rather like a priority bus lane on a busy road"
The penalty for entering the prohibited zone will be
on the 1st occaision be a free kick to the oppostion
2nd occaision 50m penalty & report
3rd occaision life time ban
4th occaison player will be shot by TRG sniper positioned in the stands.
The AFL hopes laser technology will eventually improve to a point where any player attempting to enter the free transit zone will be vaporised instantly.
"We understand football followers specifically go to games to watch the umpires & constant interference from players has been a blight on the game in recent years. The AFL wishes all supporters to know we are out there listening to them"
