I don't mind the fixture. Hawks at Etihad is good, Norf at Tassie was obvious and as good as can be expected. The Sunday games suck but I'll be home doing nothing else anyway.

My bro in law is moving to Sydney so he will be stoked with two WCE games there

You all are too negative, it's a fine draw. Sundays games aren't great but we want a winnable fixture, not one that makes us look good under the Friday night lights. The AFL knows they can shunt us to Sunday afternoon or twilight, where even the big vic clubs struggle to get a crowd because we aren't so fickle.

Double ups seem solid. No Geelong trip, no Launceston or Darwin. First seven games have five at home which should give us a good platform to start. Of last years top 8 we play 6 games at home and 4 away, with two of them being at our favourite ground the Adelaide Oval. If you include the teams who are likely to push for finals (St Kilda, Melbourne at the Dogs) we play them all at home plus a return for the Dogs.

A five game block postbye looks very tough, but in the last 7 weeks we play 1 2017 finalist.

I think difficulty wise it's a pretty good result for us.

the reason im not so much of a sunday fan is a personal choice. hate waiting for the entire weekend to watch a game.

looking at the fixture again. the last few games arent as bad as initially thought. only port looks difficult.

the start as well, if we beat sydney bulldogs and geelong were in better hands.

Plus apperently the stadium has the best lights in the world. Well we won't see them

Yeah I know, I contradict myself by complaining about it, but then saying I don't want it changed!! I just don't know if it'd feel the same to win a GF at any other ground than the G

I want it given to the higher placed team , not rotated
As for winning a flag anywhere other than the G - I could live with it
Especially if we play Hawthorn
Makes up for losing a GF away from the G too

Thursday against the Dons is the clear standout game for the year. Stadium will be pumping. Can't wait to walk from work in east Perth across the bridge.

It's weird that at a start of the art new stadium with world class lighting, the last night game played there for the year is our game against Essendon in freaking June! Round 23 aside, between the Dockers and Eagles, the last 8 games at the new stadium are all Sunday afternoon. Bizarre.

In terms of opponents/six day breaks/travel - nothing about that fixture jumps out and screams "ouch" at me...

Lots of Sunday games!! AFL House obviously expecting us to fall off the cliff next year, hence lack of primetime games. I count four games in traditional ch.7 free to air slots in our fixture (none before round 13 either!!). That sucks for fans of the team based interstate...

Not including the derby we have six Sunday arvo home games, sucks to be the opponent for those trips!

I love how us Eagles fans instantly see Collingwood @ the G and pencil it in as a loss, no matter how good or bad each team is travelling at that point in time.

We have this fancy venue with fancy lights and we barely get to use it.

Happy with the draw but don’t understand why we are playing Hawthorn @ Etihad. Last year it was Collingwood. If we want to win finals we need to be playing as many games at the MCG as we can. No wonder interstate sides get blown away at the G when they don’t get any exposure there

Horrible fixturing overall by the AFL.
Should've moved some of the Sun Arvo games to twilight slots to take advantage of the lighting technology.
Then again, the obvious decision is never made.
