And in another surprise, the Western Bulldogs will play Geelong and St Kilda only once.

It means the top three teams of last season clash in only three of a possible six games in 2010, a dramatic diversion from the AFL's long-standing mantra of maximising attendances with blockbuster games.

And whats the bet we'll have to play them twice

Oh and with this whole 'flexible fixture' thing in Round 22, I wonder when the AFL will release the final round schedule... they'd have to accommodate to fans who want to travel that weekend.

Our Club is the greatest in the AFL.

Collingwood is the Club that the AFL uses for it's foundation in money and attendances.

We are and will always be the greatest team in the AFL because we are the only one that rates on TV.

No one watches Essendon games, because no one cares.

Essendon is a small market Club.

A small minded team.

Collingwood is the AFL.

Laughable. The only true measure of a great club is premierships, and as far as that goes Carlton and Essendon have got u covered.

16 > 14.

If the AFL want to maximise revenue then why would Collingwood play the Bulldogs at Etihad in round 1? Surely it would get a decent Bulldogs turn out anyway so why play Collingwood at a small ground? Surely they either play a game that might otherwise get 40,000 in hope of a big crowd or play Collingwood at the MCG? It makes no sense

But with the Dogs, Saints and Cats only playing each other once there is little doubt that we will play em all twice, probably both games against Saints and Dogs at ES to minimise attendances and screw us

That's crisp :D

Round 1 - I think:

Thursday:
Richmond V. Carlton - MCG (Ten)

Friday:
Geelong V. Essendon - MCG (Seven)

Saturday:
Hawthorn V. Melbourne - MCG (FOX)
Brisbane Lions V. West Coast - Gabba (FOX)
Sydney Swans V. Saint Kilda - SCG (Ten)

Sunday:
Port Adelaide V. North Melbourne - AAMI (FOX)
Western Bulldogs V. Collingwood - Etihad (Seven)
Fremantle V. Adelaide - Subiaco (FOX)

22 games v Collingwood.

The only true money maker in the AFL.

Delusions.

I know Essendon's Grand Final is on Anzac Day...

every year.

As it is yours. It's the second biggest game of the year. Everyone is aware how much Collingwood cherish it in between the opportunity to choke in a Grand Final.

It is great to barrack for the best team in the AFL. The Collingwood footbal club.

The Collingwood what club?

Collingwood 13.11 (89)
Essendon 5.11 (41)

Until you avenge it. If you ever do. We have your measure.

As someone else mentioned, the two flags we won in the TWENTY YEARS since you beat us kind of make up for it, ya know?

We are and will always be the greatest team in the AFL because we are the only one that rates on TV.

It'll fall off if you don't stop playing with it.

Laughable. The only true measure of a great club is premierships, and as far as that goes Carlton and Essendon have got u covered.

16 > 14.

This. You know, I really rather like Carlton.

On the ACTUAL topic of leaks, thus far Essendon have been "booked to play" against Sydney, Port, Geelong, Melbourne, Hawthorn and North Melbourne. Apparently ALL these leaks are 100% confirmed. But as it is, the Sun says we're playing Geelong on Friday night, so I guess I can just sit and dread that for the next 5 months.

Hopefully the Herald Sun leaks the vast majority of important matches in the next week or so.

No mention of the Thursday night Roun 1 opener, I hope they scrap that.
Sorry m0nty, but it appears DT & SC players are headed for another helter skelter dash to get their teams in before lockout in round 1 with Richmond playing Carlton Thursday March 25 although in the Age it says Thursday march 27 but the 27th in a Saturday.

I actually think its Melbourne's home game.

Geelong v St Kilda not till Round 13.

What?

Doggies and Cats and Saints only play each other once?

What?

Lock Saints, Cats and Doggies into top 3 posiitions already, just based on the prejudice draw they have got.

Well done AFL, you stuffed up again!

Yep that is a terrible draw how can the top three teams only play each other once ???

Where is the parity for the rest of the competition. The lower ranked teams shouldnt be getting harder draws than the two grand finalists from the year before.

I wish the AFL would come out with some clear guidelines as to their rationale behind scheduling so people can understand what they are doing.

Surely Sydney vs St Kilda will be at ANZ Stadium not the SCG.

A collingwood supporter calling a prejudice draw for other teams, now I have seen everything!

Look on the bright side you get to play us twice this year and i know year in year out all Collingwood supporters love playing Geelong because it's a walk up start apparently :D

AFL floats a 'floating' final round
Caroline Wilson | October 20, 2009

IN A historic first, the AFL will determine the time and place of the final eight games of season 2010 on the eve of round 22 in a bid to orchestrate the fairest possible finals series.

League chief Andrew Demetriou confirmed late yesterday that he had received cautious support from the competition's three broadcasters to introduce a ''floating fixture'' in round 22 - in essence a package of eight home-and-away games with no corresponding venues or times - as part of an eyebrow-raising 2010 draw.

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfnews/floating-final-round/2009/10/19/1255891774403.html

Well thats a bit annoying. What if your team is playing interstate and want to travel to see them? Leaving flight plans and all that to the last minute can be costly. Booking a trip for the whole weekend, to cover all draw possibilities, would also be expensive.

Can't say I like this idea  I just hope the Crows are at home!
