Congrats Bombers but remember a lot can happen in one year like Melb from 14th to 2nd so dont go thinking you've got next year wrapped up aswell. But well done i was a little dissapointed though cos the game was boring as shit.

It's good to see other club's supporters giving praise to other teams. AFL is a great game with great supporters and everyone involved is great. Gee, everything is great! I'm in a great mood.(not)

The Reign has begun. 10 PF in ten years could be a possibility, although i suspect the bombers will only make another 3 GFs with this group of players

16 flags is fantastic.
16 flags in 102 copleted seasons too. Essendon didn't comptete in 1916-17 due to the war.
Carlton have compted in every season (104 seasons), so our 16 premierships is more impressive.
We have also won 6 night (pre-season) premierships, so whatever way you want to look at it...... we're the greatest baby.

Congrats the Dons on their 14th premiership.
I mean technically they have only won 14 flags by the finals system we currently play under. The other two were round robin results where they were judged to have been champions after the completion of a best of three decider (1897 and 1924)between the top four teams playing each other once for the right to be called premier.
Since they only won 1924 on percentage above the tiges (who actually belted the Dons in their play off game) and then were beaten by the Dogs for championship of the state (vfl vs vfa,1924) we should really give them much credit for the 14th elmination finals system flag to go with the two play off flags.
ps this is a piss take to knock some smiles of some Dons fans faces. Also it has just that smidgen of truth, just enough for us oppositition fans to fob off any other arguments and only hear what we want, just like you Dons can do the same.

Not true. If you had said we had technicaly won 14 Grand Finals, you'd be right.
But, we've won 16 PREMIERSHIPS. It doesn't matter how a premiership is decided, really, it's wheter you win it under whatever system the AFL designates.
Our 16 premierships have consisted of 14 Grand Final victories, and 2 Round robin tournament victories in 1897 and 1924
It still adds up to 16.

Cant hear you Dan, like i said the post was for people to interpret how they see fit. I see it as 14 premierships and two quasi results to boot. Facts are the Tiges should be given the 24 flag or even the Doggies as they came into the comp the next year as champions of the state.
