Agree whole heartedly! The reason I doubted JJ's info about Mooney's late withdrawal was because I thought JJ was just Forrrest posting under an alias, especially when he called me a flog. :o Guess it turned out he was spot on with that too. :p Boy, have I got egg on my face now after doubting you JJ, and for that I apologise.

Don't know if your source would appreciate you posting this info online, but it sure is an interesting read. I agree with what someone else said though. Would be good if you did post future info like that in the scratching post, away from any potential enemy spies. ;)

Hey Winty ..... all a bit of light hearted banter. Don't know if I was fair to call you a flog (apologies).

As I said on another post ....... would'nt post anything on BF which I thought was wortwhile to opposition teams. Will keep you all posted on any other "relevant" information.

Whilst it's hardly surprising given the coaches press conference after the game, I can almost guarantee that Lonergan will play the next 3-4 weeks as Geelong gives Hawkins a planned lay-off (made easier due to his form) and also has a look at a few other forward set ups. I know that Bomber is keen to get games into Byrnes - Varcoe - Prismall to add some depth in the event we have a bad run of injuries .......... They know Gamble can play but they will manage him closely and he will play depending on opposition and how we structure our forward line.

Nothing surprising there, but good to know we are planning for a variety of situations come the end of the year.

Well he got that bit right.:p

Glad you said sorry:)

This is interesting. I was starting to think the coach had some sort of issue with Prismall

He was quoted in the Addy this morning as saying he wished he could've played Prismall on Saturday night as well as Byrnes and Varcoe.

Must be hard for the selection committee to pick the side nowadays. There would probably be about a dozen walk up starters in the side, but after that it would be so hard to pick who to play and who to leave out. I'm glad I don't have to make that decision every week!

I have no doubt that what J.J. has said in regards to playing as many young players as much as possible is correct.
Bomber said as much at the start of the year!!
This is a very professional club, lots of planning and thought has gone in to our defence of the cup and it's about time some of these self absorbed posters here realize that they know more about running the club than they do.

JJ's been boning the boot studder to get us this info. That’s what I call a Geelong fan! some people could learn a thing or 2 about commitment.:D

good read JJ. I think a few of us had said similar things on this board as speculation and got the same type of treatment you did. I dont know what is wrong with people? :o:confused:

JJ- it's good to read information for a change. Thanks for your post.

I encourage you to keep it up. Posts like yours keep me coming back.

Thanks for the inside scoop, JJ. Bear in mind that, vitriolic nutters aside, people are going to take what you have to say with a grain of salt until you have a track record of being correct with your inside information. That's the nature of these online forums, what with the amount of crap and rumours that get posted. You're looking good so far with your Mooney news, though, so credibility will be yours before too long ;)

I'm going to apologise to JJ for something i said earlier in the Pre-Season.

Jack, you posted some info on Mathew Egans injury, saying it was more serious than the club was letting the public know, and that he would be out for an EXTENDED period of time, not the few weeks as was widely reported.

I said you were bullshitting, but what you said was, infact, the truth.

I'm sorry i doubted you, and i do appreciate your insight and info.

Again, sorry.

1/ No-one playing injured except Bartel .... rest were tired. Linga's ankle is fine. Bartel will be fine but I think most clubs know his injury and are hitting him pretty hard.

2/ Chapman ....... is being managed as was the case last year. More hamstring tightness than anything. Cautious approach with Chappy ...... but no OP.

3/ Hawkins ..... no Big Macs (he's a Hungry Jacks lad).
JJ sounds a lot like the one and only Hutchy....:thumbsu:

Jack, in regards to Bartel... is this an injury that will get better soon, or will he be playing with it for the rest of the season?

The injury is "manageable" according to club medico's ......... mid season break should freshen him up, although a couple of games between now and then and I think the club suspects that other clubs are aware that he's carrying an injury and as such are hitting him hard at every opportunity.

Would rather not post on here the specifics but it does'nt stop him running or jumping ......... more an issue in heavy traffic with excessive contact.

Might be best to leave it there.

Maybe you might be better off responding in PM form to people's questions. Don't want to give the bastards any more ideas or trade secrets now, do we?:D

Don't apologise .......... not a problem.

Unfortunately that's one piece of information I was hoping to be wrong about.

Stephen Wells was told early on in the draft process to "go looking" for a mature player to draft and I think he did well with Taylor. The only concern I have is his ability to get through the season and be ok come finals ......... history shows us that there is a big drop off with first year players who get tired and sore in the 2nd half of the year.

I've got no doubt they'll manage him carefully and he'll get a couple of breaks along the way. Lonergan is still a handy back up at CHB if we got in trouble.
