Look, I know im not a WCE supporter, but if you dont mind... Fletcher is probably in my top 3 favourite players outside the Roos, including Woey and Brown from the Doggies.

Does anyone agree that this national Judd week we're having is putting a shadow over another excellent prospect in Fletcher? What is he like 20, 21? I think he looks exciting and I know Judd is great i'm not saying that, but what about Fletch?

This whole Judd thing is making people around here bonkers, everyone here knows how good Fletcher is.

They are both great players.

fletcher is better than Judd. i don't think any west coast supporters would say he isn't.

i think part of the reason that judd is the medias favorite story at the moment is due to the fact that his contract is up and he comes from the eastern states. the media over there will run a story on judd over chad (who the hell) fletcher anyday.

Yep, Fletcher has been very very good this season. I reckon he has been the 2nd best Eagle, just behind Gardiner. Still, when you see AA teams, you see Cousins and sometimes you see Judd... but no Fletcher.

BTW, he's 24 in August.

Fletcher doesn't make you sit up and go wow like Judd, but this season he has definately been our most consistent midfielder. BFWCPOTY says it all.

Fletchers main problem in past seasons was that he used to go missing in our losses or 'away' games. This year he's been one of our most consistent and best players

I rate him higher than Judd, and i think most people here do too.... its just that Judd can do the amazing things and break open games. (Oh, and his contract expires this year)

I think comparing players like Fletcher and Judd is pointless.

Fletcher is a very useful midfielder for us this year, who has finally found consistency (as our votes prove).

Judd is an excitement machine.

It's a bit like comparing Ratten to McLeod - they're both midfielders, both valuable to their club and both play their part.

I agree Fletch is better than Judd in terms but they both compliment each other in our midfield.

i read Ben Allan's article on our midfield and they both contribute twith their distinct style.

Fletch is a possession getter and that means we get use of the ball.

Judd makes use of the possessions we get and does what Judd does best.

both these players are very talented. Although i prefer fletcher, Judd is the one that has the unique ability to break a game open, unlike fletcher. Judd is going to be one of the best if not the best in the business once he reaches his prime, given that he is only 19, whereas fletcher will be nearing his peak in the next season or so.

The difference between the two is that Fletcher took his time getting to the level he is playing at, so really hasn't grabbed the headlines by going from a nobody to a star. Judd on the otherhand is a 19yr old playing better than most midfielders at their peaks.

No doubt Fletcher is having the better season, but the potential Judd has (and the fact he's victorian) has the media going nuts.

Judd will always attract more headlines than Fletcher due to his flashy nature and ability to break a game open in such a short amount og time. Fletcher will never do that, rather be the consumate 4 quarter profressional.

If anyone was in Fletcher's shadow it would be Andrew Embley. Those two can't be seperated at the club - I read an article last year on how they go through their whole pre-game ritual together by going for a jog at the beach and stuff

I dont think Fletcher is in Judd's shadow in WA, but everyone at WC is in Judd, Cuz and Gardy's shadow in Victoria. That's the price you pay for playing in WA.

I dont think it bothers Fletch though, he will soon be in front in the BFWCPOTY award, he should be running neck and neck with Gardy for the Eagles B&F, AA might not happen because he isnt a name, but his team is sitting second on the ladder, and primed for an assault on a flag.

I bet he doesnt mind.

Hreat to hear your thoughts, geez West Coast playing list looks good right now, I think Gardiner is in AA for lack of ruckman... dont get me wrong he is easily the best, it just he noticed more when he is so far above his competition, the midfielders have tougher competition. I think papers are sometimes scared to include names like Flethcer and even Emby over cousins, who I rate as an extremely dangerous player Embly. John Baird may have the job, or Leigh Brown, geez what a vital match up! he has provide great entry into your 50 and scored a hell of a lot of goals... I cant wait! Being a WA boy I can go see the game :)
