This was the game, for me, to see where we were at.
Preseason was poor.
Round 1 against Dogs, a good side but undermanned, we were a tad disappolnting.
Round 2 great, but it has been shown since Dees are really struggling.
Round 3, never going to win, played ok.
But today was the litmus test. A decent side a bit down on form and missing key players, on our own deck, and it would show how much genuine improvement we'd made. Far more so than the Melbourne win.
And we showed nothing. The second half was appalling.
Next week? fawget about it!!!!

If Stephen’s and Darling are RECRUITED to you team as Mature Aged players, with the form and style they present with, then nothing else about your club needs to be said.

Posatives.

Sheezel back in form.

Did i mention sheezel back in form?

Trying to isolate chom at the expense of the defensive matchups isnt working.

Mids getting comprehensivly beaten. Campbell and heeney carry the ball through transition un unabated.

Forward structure non existant.
Sheezel had 26 of 34 possessions UNCONTESTED…. Why?…how??….

same old shizen

I don’t like Logue in the team, I just don’t think he’s much chop anymore.

Jyza, always loved your effort, but the opposition must cheer when you get the footy. Burns it constantly.

Daniel is exactly the same problem that he was at the Dogs. They have always looked so much better without him and our over reliance on his bs ‘neat’ disposal kills us.

Can’t wait to see the same team sheet changes that don’t address the issues.

What are your suggestions for change?
Let me tell yah a story C2S. As I was leaving Docklands last night a lovely young lass asked me who would yah rather in the side? Pink or Logue. My response was that the list is a shambles. And then I asked why the list was a shambles and before she could respond I said Brady Rawling. And she said you’re telling me something I already know. Rawling is a banana. Now she can see the truth staring her in the face. The first step is to arseh*le Rawling and that Grifter Claytons. We need guys in charge of list management and recruiting with a clue. Look at the mess they left West Coast in. And sadly from there we need to rebuild on the rebuild. Because this rebuild 5 years in is looking a disaster. :stern look

Having said all that I think the guys will gel after the bye. 😵‍💫

Didn't watch the game, was very busy at work, but was able to hear bits and pieces, I did say before the match we would take them to the cleaners, I may have been wrong about that, as much as I hate to say it, the Swans were way to good and performed like a team who had made two out of the last three grand finals.

Have read every post on this thread tonight, for once can't actually defend our boys tonight, that was real bad, they are indeed better than that BUT its "round four", they are one of the "top teams", they have made it to "2 of the the last 3 grand finals" and they know their system perfectly well, while we are getting there but the penny hasn't quite dropped yet, quite stunned to be honest, but on reflection, maybe this was always about them coming good rather than us playing so badly, we got taught a valuable lesson tonight and I know with how everyone's feeling this won't sink in but we aren't there yet and to be the team we are striving to become, there are still some issues to be worked out.

Regroup, next week is Gather Round in Adelaide, we play the unbeaten Gold Coast, who will be Phar Lap odds to win, get our team structure right, our selections spot on and see what happens, right now its Hell, but nothing is ever as bad as it seems! :disappointed:

Jokingly said no FOS, no North, as we walked to the car, but the fact is that no-one in our team shows more intensity on defensive transition than him - a 3-gamer.

And then I need to watch us imitate a sculpture garden on offensive transition, while watching every Swans player continually provide options to teammates as they picked us apart going forward.

Had enough with the lack of intensity, whether it is running, physicality at the contest, providing options or looking after the football.

Can’t drop everyone, but would start with Stephens and RHJ. Don’t care about the stats, but until they commit to the contest like the 3-gamer FOS does, they can play in the VFL.

52 more possessions than the Swans.

19 more inside 50s for the Swans.

That is absolutely horrendous use of the football.

Their kick to handball ratio was 2.1, ours was 1.2.

They kicked a goal every 18 possessions and scored every 12, we kicked a goal every 49 possessions and scored every 32.

They had seven players with over 350 metres gained, we had two.

Worst I've felt after a loss since that first Hawks game last year, which was around the same point in the season and played under similar circumstances of being a good opportunity at Marvel. Went to sleep upset, woke up still upset.

The only broad positive that I can take away: thank God we aren't winless right now. Don't even know where to begin otherwise. I feel like how Sisyphus must when the boulder rolls back to the bottom of the hill.

Sydney was average and missing some stars too.

We were our usual Benny Hillesque with our ball use and in the second half we looked shell shocked and totally bereft of confidence.

I look forward to our game with Hawthorne where we will win the clearances and they will toy with us with their run and ball use

It’s all giving me bad vibes for Good Friday
If we don’t win that game, then there’s very little chance of winning others.

Carlton are genuinely shit.

But we will certainly play them into form.

McKay will come back and kick six.
