Curnow staged Friday night throwing himself back like he had been suplexed. None of the others you mention did that and when they do now they don't get a free kick so what's your issue. Watson gets grabbed by the neck on the ground and crickets from everyone.
Both Curnows free kicks on Thursday night were for high contact, in which he ducked for neither. Honestly no idea what ur talking about.

Ginnivan Watson and Moore actively play for high tackles by dropping their knees and heaving their arms up to accentuate the contact. It's embarrassing.

Would be more than fine if the AFL started finding or even suspending these serial flop artists, otherwise we'll end up with Soccer.

So how much longer will this be allowed to go on?

Fast pace game with high stakes. Ball moving around with pace in tight areas. Then a player will grab the ball and immediately flop to the ground hoping to "draw" the high free kick, and they often succeed. They're not looking to kick, handball, or complete any kind of football action; they just flop to their belly hoping an opposition player makes contact with their shoulder or head or "pushes" them in the back.

Don't want to hear any nonsense about this being an example of "poor tackling technique". Its ridiculous that players in a fast pace game have to anticipate players intentionally flopping to the ground because they know the umpires love giving free kicks for the softest of highs. The AFL ironed out the Joel Selwood duck so why aren't they taking action with the flop?
It’s about time you went down to your club and had a word with Cripps, Curnow and McKay.

Maybe AFL-only supporters will start realising that it’s never been the sport of soccer that makes “soft stagers” out of players, but when the money starts flowing to the players and the benefits of staging overrides the ridicule of the opponent and the fans, then the staging comes about.

AFL are unlikely to do anything unless the $$$ tell them to. The issue that AFL has is that they can control the entire player and club pool, so they can sweep these under the rug under the guises of press conference spin and “media non disparagement” clauses. Whereas in soccer, there are way too many competitions as well as each country’s governing bodies and world media not subject to these media clauses, hence players are outed quite regularly in commentary and especially under video review.

An out-of-the-box idea that will never work? every high contact flop, or deliberate duck, or draw high contact free motion is independently recorded, and used as a legal defense for any concussion/head injury related future claims. Want your sport to be treated like a workplace, treat it like a workplace and stop faking or taking actions to invite injury.
I sure know that if my employer started witnessing me pretend to hit my head on an overhead beam to get a sick day, or walking with my head down and hitting a steel valve handle repeatedly throughout a day, I’d be getting this exact advice from my WHSE and HR teams.

Problem with handling "flopping" and "diving" via free kicks is that it adds yet another layer of interpretation and confusion for the umpires.

How do you distinguish between flopping and if a player genuinely slips or trips? What if a player genuinely receives contact but "milks it" - is that flopping/diving or clever play? What if they raise their arms Selwood-style? Is that trying to force high contact or trying to get the arms free to dish the ball off?

They'd need to nail down specifically what the rule is, what is and isn't allowed, or else it would be a complete mess.

see that's your problem, ridiculously one eyed. Its no point posting footage. Last year i posted evidence of Curnow flopping and playing for frees. He was lying on the ground against Collingwood with arms outstretched like he was shot. You said he was having ä rest".

Im not sure continuing to lay on the ground after falling on your back is considered flopping my dude... Generally it's because you just can't be arsed getting up because ur gassed and sore.

that particular incident last year was in first 5 minutes of the game. Must be extremely unfit if gassed at that stage of a game.
Still not a flop to remain on the ground when you're already there.

What Ginnivan, Daicos, Moore, Watson etc do is playing for frees. Curnow just gets a good go from the umps but competes for the ball as hard as anyone.

'The guys from the team I hate do it all the time, its embarrassing.'

'The guys from my team get a good go but they deserve it because they compete hard.''
