Arguably the biggest boxing match of the past decade.

Deserves it's own thread.

Early outright prices:
WILLIAM HILL
Mayweather 1.13
McGregor 6.00

LADBROKES
Mayweather 1.15
McGregor 5.50

SPORTSBET
Mayweather 1.15
McGregor 5.50

CROWNBET
Mayweather 1.15
McGregor 5.50

BET365
Mayweather 1.10
McGregor 7.00

The fight will be boxing rules, 12 three-minute rounds at 154 pounds with 10-ounce gloves, sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Mayweather Promotions will be the lead promoter for the entirely of the card, and TV network Showtime will air the fight on pay-per-view.

I like McGregor's early price. His last fight was the most previous November (albeit in the UFC and not boxing), Mayweather's was 2 years ago. Not to mention he's 40 years old now as opposed to McGregor who's only 28. Mayweather has also struggled against people that fight southpaw, and guess who fights southpaw? That's right, McGregor. Not definitively going to say right now that McGregor will win, just that I like his price and there's a justification behind liking it. I can't see McGregor holding that price so if you like him I would suggest jumping on early.

What are everyone else's thoughts on the fight?

I doubt McGregor will land a blow. The best boxers in the world couldn't touch Mayweather so there is no chance a UFC fighter will. I haven't seen all his fights but Diaz picked him apart and Mayweather will do it with ease.

I'm just chucking a fiver on McGregor @7 for fun to see if it can win me some beer money.

Even though I almost never watch/punt on fights I reckon i should more often, there's this really weird phenomenon where I suddenly become an expert once or twice a year in combat sports when there's a big fight

The best boxers in the world haven't been able to lay a glove on Mayweather so nothing makes me think someone who doesn't box will be able to

Mayweather will just out box him.

Agree.

McGregor can box, its just he is boxing against a boxer who was the best in the business. McGregor does have the capacity to throw a knockout punch, definitely has age and speed on his side.

Two years out of the ring is going to be the most interesting aspect of this.

I don't follow it but I assumed McGregor would be the one that's $1.1. I will definitely have a shilling on him and watch it now. He's an animal, he'll find a way. And Mayweather must only be going backwards at his age. But as I said I'm fairly ignorant so might be way off but I'm shocked at the prices.

Mcgregor hasn't got a chance in hell. Is going back 8 years but mayweather came out of retirement and destroyed Castillo who was a great boxer. 2 years makes no difference. Mcgregor isn't a true boxer and would get murdered by the likes of Green and Mundine. Knocked out.

It's purely a money maker for both and a farce. The fight shouldn't go ahead. If mayweather wants to k.o him, he will. But it won't. The fight will go the distance and they'll do it again for another massive pay day.

Smart businessmen these blokes.

One of the best boxers of all time vs a guy who isn't even a boxer. Hmm tough choice

Does have a a bit of a feel of Rodger Federer v Lebron James in tennis about it.
