He was looking at the player, not the ball, because he's scared, because his opponent is 7cm taller than him and weighs 10kgs more than him

Thinking about the thought process that the panel had in selecting Flynn I’ve come up with this.
Getting late in the season so the forward planning on list management has begun.
Collingwood were very confident in beating GWS given their injury issues and our performance last week.
So, Appleby has been in the system long enough to either have a line drawn through him, or be given more time to develop.
What better game than to make that judgement than a gimmie win?

To be fair though fu** the match committee for bringing him in and playing him on a tall

Flynn was thrown to the wolves by the selection committee. I was happy for his inclusion but playing him on a tall was not the right match up.

I reckon we thought Greene would play forward and were gambling on Maynard playing third tall. Greene went on ball, they played an extra tall forward and created the mismatch.

Asked to play outside his weight division and it was clearly a selection mistake by the coach.

I felt really sorry for the Crock last week and must've used up all my empathy on him because I've got none for Apples. He does know how to take a man, make body contact and punch a ball away right? Or haven't they got to teaching him that yet? My god that was one of the most pathetically insipid defensive performances I have ever witnessed. It wasn't excusable imo. Apple's was downright putrid in every way. The selection committee made an appalling call. Sharrenberg rotting in the 2's. Joke!

This game isn't a representation of what he is as a player. He is a small defender. Some players can go alright when up against taller players. He just can't. Maybe coaching committee overrated that aspect of his game? Selection blunder.
