A sad state of affairs when kids are permanently affected by their parents actions whilst in utero.

Foetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is no joke.
 
A young woman I used to work with a decade ago was a heavy drinker back then. Stopping into the bottle shop every night on the way home and drinking in the car. I noticed on FB she had a kid a couple of years ago and he looks like he has AFS. So she obviously didnt cut down during the pregnancy. Poor kid never stood a chance.
 
have seen heaps of it: usually (but not always) in aboriginal communities alcoholic woman gets pregnant cant or wont stop drinking child is born with lots of physical and mental problems and child needs full time care for the rest of its life-very sad
