It used to be a real source of shame in this country to put your hand out and take welfare.
Now, apparently it’s only a source of shame to do it, if you are genuinely in need, homeless, or unemployed.
I understand this well. Over the years I've done a lot of work for the disadvantaged, homeless and people leaving violent relationships, devised a scheme in conjunction with my business at the time I could wangle furniture and white goods for them at little cost which I absorbed was one thing. Their sense of shame was obvious, I felt it so much that I don't even like talking about it, as if it should be a secret and their dignity is more important than my need to boast about helping.
Folau the multi millionaire is entirely shameless and I wouldn't give him a cent.
