Can't help but personally feel that the worst outcome for those concerned with clarification, on permissible scope of religious expression, would be for this case to be settled in confidence; no transferable guiding principles for public contemplation. Even if his case is eventually decided on a contractual distinction, publishing the underlying reasons might better publicly highlight the need for employees to adequately contemplate the scope of an employment code of conduct before agreeing to bound by it. Settling in confidence would be bad PR according to my very selfish point of view.
