There’s not enough religious freedom in this country. Yes, there’s the right to worship without persecution. Some may also argue that religious schools get a lot of taxpayer money and are allowed more flexibility than government schools. Religious organisations are also exempt from tax on the funds they raise and lands that they own.

But it’s clearly an issue of religious freedom being eroded when high paid employees have their contracts rescinded because of their devout dedication to sharing spicy religious memes.

ACL more or less is a group of pentacostals churches, including Izzys, most of which believe to some degree in conversion. Yes it's extreme, yes it's wrong, yes it should be protested against.

The problem was they legal process was not open transparent or broad. It was a narrow star chamber to get a result to keep Qantas happy. Total chaos and mis management from Castle and her cronies, in a sport that is stacked with religious people.

Not sure how you can reasonably arrive at this conclusion. The ARL tribunal that heard Folau's response was an independent one. It could only reach a decision based on the arguments it heard; it could not rely its own arguments one way or another. It may, or may not, have erred on a particular point of law, which is perhaps what Folau is asserting and challenging; but that doesn't mean that it was a "Star chamber " with a preconceived bias as to the outcome.

In fairness, a big part of why the ‘my freedom of speech is under threat’ narrative is getting so much traction in the wider community, is because of hard left, social justice warriors such as yourself who have been ramming political correctness down there throats for the last ten years.

That you believe you have such agency over this “choice” could merely be perceptual jpm. It’s just as likely that given the way your brain was organised and the environment it was exposed to, this conclusion was an inevitable one. So I challenge you now, exercise your agency to choose ... choose not to be atheist.

Behavioural science is pretty clear - we are innate liars. We lie frequently and at times, unconsciously. Folau has likely damned every living person to hell ... luckily for him, it’s his God handing out the pardons and not the other guy’s.

There is indeed evidence supporting a biological basis for monogamous and non-monogamous behaviours. Like with homosexuality, the behaviour itself may be a choice, but the proclivity may not be.

We're compelled to exercise tolerance on the issue of religious expression, or intolerance depending on which side of the argument one sits. If you don't agree, which you're well within your rights not to, lobby for political change rather than attack Folau or others who share those belief/s.

It wasn't a tribunal it didn't have to work under a framework like the AFL, petty sure there wasn't even a charge, as I said most likely a star chamber that would make Thomas Cromwell proud.

I enjoy those sort of philosophical discussions but most people are just getting on with their everyday lives and dealing with it the best they can without worrying about such big meaning of life type questions.

Personally I couldn't give 2 hoots what some random birdbrained celebrity said about any group that I was part of. However it seems to me that a fair portion of the Homosexual population have taken serious offence to Folau's Instagram post, I have empathy for them and am trying to put myself in their shoes.
