Can you see the point I'm making.People have to put up with Israel Filou stuff and anti-abortion protesters at clinics. This is because religions operate outside the laws of today.I wouldn't mind if they were helping homeless people or preaching tolerance but religions are more like political parties these days.

It's a list of things that if you choose to do you are sinning, except one of them isn't a choice. So it isn't the same.

Saying you are doing the wrong thing by drinking is not the same as saying you are doing the wrong thing by being gay.

It's still pushing the view that being gay is a choice, and an incorrect and evil one at that.

See the difference? Can you see why it's not the same?

They can’t afford to play him. The will almost certainly lose their major sponsor if they do.

He won’t play for the Wallabies again. He may get a payout (which I imagine just shrunk significantly), and he may play Rugby elsewhere, but not for the Wallabies.
 
He has basically been sacked by the sponsors not the NRL. If the sponsors were cool with it the NRL would have been too.It's all about money but on this occasion money is giving the best result.

He is known to be a hard core Christian with very strong beliefs. Why are people looking?

Why are people caring?

Its truly bizarre. One of the top players in the world is being sacked because he said some stuff on Twitter.

We truly are ****ed if this is actually important. How the hell do we cope with real issues ?

How many people suddenly refuse to fly QANTAS because a rugby player quoted the bible on Twitter?

Would QANTAS have actually followed through? If Folau wins on appeal will QANTAS stump up the $4 million?

I think we all know the honest answer to these questions.

I'm saying it's much easier for Qantas to influence Folau's position with the ARU than it is for them to deal with the other unrelated issue you brought up.

This isn't his first time going down this road either, and he won't be the first celebrity/sportsperson to cop it from public backlash to something they've said or done.

It’s Rugby Australia and the Waratahs ,it has nothing to do with the NRL or Rugby League

Clearly only one of those partnerships is actually inflicting harm on the gay community though.

People keep saying in here Folau is whoring himself for the money (He probably is ) but Joyce is no different .

He is a crusader for gay rights against past and present superstars in sport but will line his pockets with state sponsored airlines belonging to countries that imprison people for being gay .

Corporate responsibility is in general a farce.
As is consumer responsibility

We tend to focus on our own back yard more than what's happening elsewhere and the media only made a story out of one of those two things.
 
This whole Folau thing is exploding after he tweeted and excerpt from the bible. Alan Joyce has taken offence on behalf of Qantas and the cash strapped Rugby Australia is desperate to cut the affected limb.

Meanwhile after a three day hearing has declared him guilty of having unapproved beliefs (and while we await his pre ordained sentence) there's been a furious counter reaction from people wondering what the hell the world is coming to where employers can sack people for quoting the christian bible? Huge can of worms this.
