Did the employees of QANTAS actually get a say on whether they are an inclusive organisation or did their gay CEO make that decision for them and they all just shut their mouths for fear of losing their jobs?
If they don't agree with their companies policies they can quit and find employment with a company that isn't inclusive.

Your hypocrisy is showing ...bye bye
So is yours.

He has a right to say what he wants but no one does in response?

His employers don't have a right to choose who they want to work for them.

It's not based on the fact he is Christian, otherwise a lot more would be fired,
So it's not discrimination.
It's on him breaking social media policies. Happens every day.

Of course he has, he knows he has too.
He singled out homosexuality as an evil . Thats discrimination.
Her signed a contract saying he would not so this but he has, he deserves to be sacked.

He didn't single out homosexuality, he included it along with a raft of other things.

A sizable minority of that group actively practise the religion, attend church and hold these beliefs. Without knowing the specifics of BigFooty's demographics I'm guessing that there would be a proportionate amount of posters here who would fall within that category, although it is not evident so far in this thread.

So I think we need to be careful not to scapegoat Israel Folau for being outspoken about relatively mainstream beliefs (even if we find them distasteful).
I appreciate the nuance in your argument, but I think you overestimate the size of this population.

Approximately 8% of all Australians attend church on at least a monthly basis (https://mccrindle.com.au/insights/blogarchive/church-attendance-in-australia-infographic/). Of those, of course, not all will attend fundamentalist churches (for example, the Uniting Church has progressive views)... and certainly not as conservative as Folau's Mormon upbringing.

That's not to discount the effect of Folau's upbringing. To say that a young Queensland mormon man born to Tongan parents holds such conservative views is hardly a surprise. Most Tongans are Mormons, and heavily conservative on such matters.

You can use the phrase "singled out" for a list of things, i.e. "The coach singled out Selwood, Dangerfield and Ablett for carwashing duties due to Murdoch's departure from the club".

It was a provocative post by Israel. He could have posted a Bible verse that spoke of compassion and forgiveness but instead he posted one of judgement and condemnation.

To be honest, I think he wanted out and this was an opportunity to get released from his contract.

Equally damning. You can't get away with comments like that, regardless of whether your religion falls on the 'protected' (and attacked) side of the political spectrum or not.
What about the majority of a certain religion (statistical fact) who believe homosexuality should be banned and women should have less rights than men. They are getting away with it since their numbers are increasing faster than any other religion worldwide (and have a higher birth rate than any other group in Australia). Why isn't the media condemning this certain religion that preaches hate? Why are they free to preach this religion in our society and when anyone condemns it as hateful they are accused of racism and *religion*ophobia?

last I checked this word in the dictionary, It was bigotry to oppose religious views. Just be careful how you use this word here coz you border on hypocrisy. It not bigotry to trust in the bible!
No it's not. You need a better dictionary.

Hating on people and using your religion to justify it? Now we're talking.

I think we also need to drop the idea that all points of view on this are equally good, or valid. For most things, it's good to keep an open mind to different points of view, but at some point we need to draw that line, that a certain point of view is objectively wrong and unsupportable.

LOL at being called a bigot for calling out a religion that opposes homosexuality and womens rights. Trying to protect the weak is considered bigotry now by the media lol..

Or because he doesn't actually work for anyone and hasn't for over a decade.

But media outlets and promoters give him a platform to spew his rubbish so they can all make money.

They demonize and shut down Foley but enable Mundine because he makes them money.

Mundine's latest is speaking up as an anti-vaxxer. If he helps influence only a handful of parents, it could potentially cause serious harm to not only that parent's child/children but also to those they socialise with. It's a very real risk.

Who literally believes the nonsense that they will physically go to hell when they die?

I reckon the smart money will be on him playing for the wallabies in Japan at the end of the year. He's probably our only world class player

They have been bashing him online for his antivax stance since he said it.
His employers can't fire him as he has no employer.

Who believes? Religious people do.

Do the majority actually believe that though? Most religious people I know of any faith are rarely as intolerant as the preachy ones who shout the loudest.

Haven't seen one major sports star from any other religion say this in Autralia.

I don't think that saying a group of people aren't going to get into your exclusive club is hateful.

I think the biggest issue is that gay people have been associated with fornicators and liars and the other bad actors he listed.
