What incentive would they have to fudge the numbers?
Nothing succeeds like success.

Get on board, all your fellow crazies are already here!

I just find it interesting that they have drawn no criticism for basically the same reaction.

And let’s say that RA didn’t act and at the expiration of Qantas’ sponsorship, they chose not to renew abc RA had trouble finding a new sponsor on the back of Izzy’s actions. Would he have been ok to take a significant paycut on his next contract and comfortable for all team mates to do the same?

Sponsors come and go, like the TAC did at Richmond.

It could be as simple as ASICS not being as high profile as Qantas...as for Israel taking a paycut....if that article (I posted a link too a couple of pages back) which suggests that Israel is leveraged to the eyeballs with his investment properties and was stuck with a contract that had ‘flatlined’....I can’t see him taking a pay cut.

I’m sure Israel loves him some Jesus. But I’m sure just like the Hillsong mob, he loves him some cold hard cash too. The exorbitant GoFundMe target of $3 million, the grubby disclaimer he attached to it...it’s just American style televangelism 101.

Australian’s are just too stupid to see it.

The disclaimer on the GoFundMe page was a legal requirement. Pretty sure there's nothing similar associated with the ACL appeal.

Yes Ron.

Otherwise it would of been straight out fraud.

Out of interest, why is Folau asking for such a crazy amount of money, when most legal experts have said that his costs would likely only reach $300,000 at the most.

What will happen with the leftover Ron?

Yes I've seen those claims. It's interesting that such figures can be thrown about without knowing who Folau will engage, how many fronts he will fight on or how long the case will last.

I imagine the $3m includes a buffer in case the battle is protracted. Better to have a surplus than to run dry.

Don't know what will happen to any surplus. I would expect it to be donated to a worthy charity.

If Izzy had even one brain cell in his whole body I would suggest that he purposely posted that tweet, hoping that it would create the hate towards LGBTQI people that it has.

The ACL in a statement said when it reaches 1.5 million they will be asking for a breakdown of legal expenses so money isn't unnecessarily donated. The speed of the current 1.5 has probably caught them of guard.
It should also be noted the ACL started the funding with a 100k donation, so naturally they will have a vested interest where the money will eventually be spent.

If that is the case, then that’s surely something you think Israel and his ‘team’ could of easily inserted into the original GoFundMe disclaimer? All unused funds donated will be directed to such and such charity etc.

But it wasn’t in there was it Ron.

Ol Izzy left it open so he could potentially pocket the lot.

Grub that he is.

Asking for a breakdown when it gets too $1.5?

Dude legal estimates say at the most this farce will only go to $300,000 at the max.

So not sure if ****ing serious?

Why is anyone paying out anything? Folau has a $7 million property portfolio according to reports....surely he can afford $300,000?

Why is Folau having to put his hand out to Joe Public for cent one?

And again...if any money not spent on legal fees is going to be given to charity, why did Folau include the dodgy arse disclaimer at the bottom of his original GoFundMe?

Something shady going on here.

How Australia can’t see it I have no idea.

Read this article.

The truth lies somewhere in there I suspect.

I don't care if he uses my money to buy another Lamborghini.

I'm paying for the feeling I get that I'm contributing to the fight to protect freedom of speech in Australia and to send the PC crowd a message that people are sick and tired of being bullied and silenced.

I feel like a bit of a hero.

Save your tears for someone else.

The ANZ bank has just foreclosed on your house mortgage, with the full backing of the ALP.

Really?. What a farce.

What Folau’s camp refuse to answer is what the leftover amount from the $3 million figure is going to go on? Legal experts have said his costs will likely only reach $150,000 to $200,000....so why the continuing demand for a figure so in excess of that?

Naked, unadulterated, evangelical greed is my suspicion.
The legal experts are being a bit coy

The fairwork case will cost that given the legal talent they are both using. Fairwork is fairly toothless, so even if Folau wins it will end up in the Federal court, with someone paying costs. RA may open a second front in the supreme Court. This will easily cost the 3 million (especially if folau loses) unless as expected RA fold.

For Izzy to stop playing the victim. Izzy is not the victim in this.
Well he sees himself as one, and now the lefty's have made sure plenty of others do.

It may only be me but to understand Australia I think look at the SSM plebetsite.

As soon as it was framed as individual rights you got substantial and overwhelming support from the centre and the right. Even though most understood this would upset some Christian people and most other religious people. The hurt was worth the benefit, even though significant numbers on the left voted no. Many on the left voted no because they are unable to emphasise or hate people that are different from them

Then we get to folau, he has pretty extreme Christian views but his views on homosexuals are no where near as bad as Muslims or others. He loses his job and many think that has gone to far, again individual freedom suggests he should be able to have Christian views even if it hurts LGBTI people to some degree, obviously it helps he is Christian. The left of course pile in because they hate Christians and we end up with Izzy the martyr.

Unbelievable, I can't believe she said this after doing the exact opposite in HRT for many years. Hell has officially frozen over.

The renewed support for Folau comes as Gillian Triggs, the former Australian Human Rights Commission president, said she believed it was important to protect the rugby union star's right to freedom of speech.

"I don't think employers should have that power [to sack someone] and I don't think that one should lose one’s job for putting a view in good faith that you have put, particularly as a reflection that could be a religious view," said Ms Triggs on ABC News.

“It is a very wide view. It encompasses a lot of us - we're all going to go to hell. I think it is really foolish and disproportionate to prevent him from preaching something that I think he probably believes quite deeply as a matter of religious expression

The Calvary is coming, for those who don't know rugby is 80 to 90% private school and out of that 70% Anglican
Anglican Archbishop of Sydney, Glenn Davies, said he was concerned that Folau’s right to express his faith was being “denied and vilified”.
The original post on Instagram canvassed some basic tenets of the Christian faith," Dr Davies said. "It was not the entire Christian message but it was posted without malice and from a place of deep conscience and concern. It encompassed all people, for we are all liars. It was posted with respect and with urgency. It had nothing to do with rugby and it should have been his right as a citizen to speak of what he believes without threat to his employment."

Castle will have to resign shortly

You swear on a holy book. Even the Bhagawad Geeta will do.

Well what do you know, I just opened up the Bible and turned to the Book of Psevdís and there it is,

"And Jesus said unto them, Truly I tell you that we should create a Magna Carta, so that the kings do not use their divine right... uhm... the blokes who I have selected... to arbitrarily exercise their powers..."

and then there is this also...

"And on the fifth day, God said "Let there be Common Law!" to supersede Canon Law... uhm that is Common Law should supersede My law... <gulp>"

Owning the lefties by helping a millionaire buy another lambo isn’t the best strategy.

Supporting groups that advance worker protections is better.
