I am looking for footage of a bump that featured in a Collingwood highlights video from the late 90's.

From memory Darren Milane is near the boundary about to bend over a collect a loose ball when another player comes into to hip and shoulder him. Pants stands up and plants his shoulder in to the bloke who ends up flat on the ground.

Greatest bump ive ever seen. Does anyone know where I might find this footage, youtube, vimeo, name a game?

Cheers.

There are a few bumps in these.
Not sure which you're after.

Just for the hell...here Ed Interviewing the Great man.
The video is spoiled by Quarterbrain being in it.

believe the bump you are referring to was against essendon at the G in 90-91 I'd say, cant recall the game but the player he flattened was michael werner, I think number 24.

Remember it well as I loved it too and being a Pants fanatic it was one of best memories of his hardness...some others were the way he jumped in to help tony francis after the kicking incident and how ferocious he looked......I remember he had paul peos in a headlock - i think in this incident or on another occasion perhaps - and the commentator said something like..."millane and peos going at it.....good luck paul peos!" Gold!

I agree that it was against Essendon, but I'm pretty sure it was Paul Vandehar (spelling could be wrong). It was classic because Pants looked oblivious to fact that he was being lined up. He just kept watching the ball bouncing to the boundary, leaving himself seemingly wide open for a s**tmixer. The crowd were yelling but it was as if he were deaf. Then at the very last moment he turned side-on and drove up from his bent knees stance and laid Vanderhar out. Then he stood over him and growled like a guard dog before throwing back his head in laughter and running back for the throw-in. It's on one of my videos, could even be "Millane". Could be wrong about Vanderhar but that's who I've always remembered it as.

Nah it was Werner and it was gold.

He ran in and lined him up and at the last second Millane just braced for impact and ironed him out from a standing start. Never seen anything like it before or since.

Would love to see some footage and relive the memories

My favourite memory is at Vic Park, but I can't remember the year, we played Richmond and in the pocket Millane charges into the Richmond player with the ball, literally wrestles the ball from his hands and snaps a goal all in one motion.

Unbelievable.

My favourite part was 1.45 when he knock it up air and went passed a couple of Dees players and then goaled,it was his debut game and I remember Peter Landy commentating and saying come on son and well done son after he kicked it.18 he was and just starting out and we got him from Hawthorn great memories.:thumbsu:

Just a general question as I wasn't around during most of the time that Millane played.

How many games a round were recorded during the mid to late eighties, was all of it caught on camera? Also, do all these tapes still exist or have most been destroyed now?

That is interesting question between ch7 and the ABC,s the winners they would have taped all 6 matches then, but in another thread about the 90 Gf fight which I have on VHS tape but not very clearly now I went on ytube to see if there was any footage but had no luck,in those days a lot of programs got taped over, but generally they were all filmed then.

Pretty sure the video above with Eddie on it shows this exact bump at 44 secs that I and you have referred to and the one the OP wants to see!

Can recall this but the one I remember in the manner you described was early in his career at kardenia park v cats. Very similar to one bosustow did when he got goty and moty in the same year.

But yeh, brilliant goal!
