John Ironmonger (Sydney & Fitzroy) has a sister (Sally) who also represented Australia in netball.
Former Collingwood (and Port Adelaide Magpie) star Greg Phillips has a daughter (Erin) who has represented Australia in basketball. Hawthorn's Shaun Burgoyne is married to another of his daughters.

With Ky and Percy, we'd be able to see another case of 3 generations making it to the VFL/AFL.

One to look forward to in a couple of decades.

Bobby Cachia is the son of Sophie Shaw (The Young Mummy) and former Carlton player Jaryd Cachia.

Sophie's the daughter of former Fitzroy and Adelaide coach Robert Shaw which makes him the grandfather of Bobby.

Jaryd Cachia's the grandson of former North Melbourne player Terry Benton who, in turn, is the great-grandfather of Bobby.

Just saw something on DemonWiki that could possibly extend to Josh Caddy.

As seen in various sources, Caddy's the grandson of John Reeves.

John Reeves is the nephew of former Demon Colin Niven.

Not sure what relation Niven is to Josh.

Yet to debut, 21, but that's not unusual for the Swans

& his younger bro Jonathon who debuted for the Pies last weekend
http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/player-profile/jonathon-marsh

& their grandfather Ray Sorrell
During his 178 game league career Ray Sorrell was regarded as one of, if not the, best centremen in Australia. Essendon’s Jack Clarke, for example, rated Sorrell as his toughest opponent: “He was fast, strong, intelligent in both attack and defence, elusive and a powerful kick. I’ve played against him three times, and .... haven’t beaten him once.”¹ Besides winning the 1963 Sandover Medal and being awarded a retrospective one for 1961, Sorrell was twice adjudged Old Easts’ fairest and best player. A dual Simpson Medallist, he represented WA 18 times and made the 1958 and 1961 All Australian teams. - See more at: http://australianfootball.com/players/player/ray+sorrell/15840#sthash.kSA2KIVx.dpuf

In 2007 he was named in the centre in the Fremantle Team of Legends.
His grandsons, Harrison and Jonathon Marsh, are currently listed with the Sydney Swans and Collingwood respectively

Good blood lines the boys Marsh ....

BUMP!

We've got some more connections this year.

Some father/son draft prospects.

Callum Brown (Gavin, Coll.)
Josh Daicos (Peter, Coll.)
Ben Jarman (Darren, Haw and Adel.)
Jesse Maxfield (Stuart, Rich and Syd.)
Matthew Neagle (Merv, Ess and Syd.)
Michael Romero (Jose, Foot.)
Jake Waterman (Chris, WCE.) (Jake is also the brother of WCE's Alec.)

Tom Goodwin, who plays for the Coburg Lions (previously Box Hill Hawks,) is the son of former Demon and Tiger Andy Goodwin.

There are also brothers coming through.

Joseph Atley (Shaun, NM.)
Hamish Brayshaw (Angus, Melb.) (That, in turn, makes Hamish another son of former Roo Mark Brayshaw and the nephew of The Footy Show host James Brayshaw.)
Jhdara Jones (Liam, Foot and Carl.)
Jonty Scharenberg (Matthew, Coll.)
Jordan Viojo-Rainbow (Dillon, Carl.)

Daniel Venables, another draft prospect, is the great-grandson of North Melbourne legend Johnny Lewis.

GWS high flyer Will Hoskin-Elliott is a descendant of former Roy boy and Pie Charlie Norris.

Yep.

The Daniher sisters all played high level of netball in NSW too. The breeding in Ungarie was something else.

That Daniher breeding has produced another family member in the AFL in the form of Jock Cornell (Geelong rookie) who's the son of one of the Daniher girls.

Doing my own family tree, I've found former Hawthorn player of the '70's Leon Rice and Albert Bickford are distant cousins-in-law and, doing another, Carlton legend Adrian Gallagher and former Geelong player John Helmer are 1st cousins.
