If I was half a foot taller I've found a list of AFL footballers I wouldn't be out of place on. It's not the second.

Now that's a list I would absolutely get onMy weight for height stats aren't great

Re the state of origin afl concept.
I'm in the no thanks camp, and I'm sure it won't happen. Just a click bait.
Sure it can get bums in seats but we don't have a problems with spectator numbers across the league. We aren't league games getting 10k to games.
I do not want to risk player injury, or compromise a team missing finals because players were absent for state of origin duty and critical games were lost.
I'd rather see international rules ahead of state of origin to be honest. Love that stuff. Zorko was so good last time it was on.Re the state of origin afl concept.

Without knowing how it would work State of Origin is a fantastic concept that would be a benchmark of achievement for players and the games would be awesome.Always been a fanatical SOO fan. Grew a SA boy.
In the internationalised world of sport, AFL needs higher honours, or we will wither on the vine.
Kids get drafted al over the country. They deserve the right to play for their home state - just ask Brownie.
Have a weekend mid year -
WA vs SA
Qld vs NSW
Tassie vs NT.
Vic Country vs Vic City - start with that Friday night.
Every one that plays is rested in the 3 rounds after.
What a festival of footy.

Looking at the injury list at some clubs players have just as much chance of getting a debilitating injury at training as they do playing.
It won't happen in the foreseeable future because the AFL is already squeezing the lemon for every drop it can eke out. Plus clubs and supporters are over self indulged to the point of narcissism. But one day the penny will drop.
I can't think of a sport where elite level competition isn't the pinnacle.Every other code promotes their players for representative honours, but the AFL clubs know better than everyone? Will be the, eventual , death of us.
Well not death, just being irrelevant.
Rugbly League - SOO, and Tests.I can't think of a sport where elite level competition isn't the pinnacle.
Particularly team sports.
I remember a a kid watching Kevin Murray run out as Captain of Victoria and then WA ( when it was State vs. State based ) and Fitzroy could hardly win a game , how that made me feel , and I can't help but think a proper SOO contest would draw more youngsters away from Soccer an other International sports which is where they now envision themselves if they have a dream.Rugbly League - SOO, and Tests.
Union - Wallabies, and an international game.
Cricket - what can I say.
Soccer - World Cup trumps the EPL. Let alone every international competition.
I rest my case. Any sport needs higher honours to be relevant.
