Would be fascinating to see a modern day Queensland state team competing in an Aussie rules State of Origin competition. Some legendary players like Dunstall and Voss got the opportunity to play for the Maroons last time they competed in a match in the early 90s and it would be pretty cool to see the Ashcroft boys follow in their father's footsteps by playing for Queensland just like Marcus did 30ish years ago. I'd guess our 2026 QLD state team would look something like this and I definitely think we would be competitive against the likes of NSW and SA with a team like this:Without knowing how it would work State of Origin is a fantastic concept that would be a benchmark of achievement for players and the games would be awesome.
