Weird one. Just had a random AFL video on in the background while I was doing something and saw Ash McGrath’s goal after the siren.. is it just me or is this actually a behind? It goes behind the goal post, no?
Find it funny considering the Adelaide situation a fortnight ago.

The frame after that the ball is in front of the goal post 🤷‍♂️
Definitely isn’t.

I am actually perplexed by this.

It looks like it missed! Can’t complain we got the win but I am confused.

From the hall of fame recap... Brisbane Lions Hall Of Fame 2023 Re-Cap

Saturday 8 May 1897. Fitzroy beat Carlton by 33 points at Brunswick Street Oval in the club’s very first game in the then VFL. At 22, 180cm ruck/forward Mick Grace, claimed a place in club history.

You certainly wouldn't get a run as a ruck/forward these days at 180cm ... you would be borderline for the midfield!

Humans are definitely getting taller, must be all the shite they put in the food these days.

Caleb Daniel was born in the wrong century, could have been an elite ruckman.

It's more the fact that we've all actually got food on a regular basis.

This is the issue. Those in the middle to lower classes in Western societies struggled to put food on the table . Plus they mostly worked their clacker off or went to war . So they were tired und under nourished.

Fast forward to 2023 and a large proportion of them are overweight to obese because of too much of an inappropriate diet with additives and sugar pumped into their foods of choice . And spare time spent in front of a TV or computer.

A better life for the majority hasn't necessarily translated into better health outcomes.

Its pretty interesting watch the generational changes in my partners family. They come from South America and its really interesting to see the differences in who wholly grew up South America, who came as a child (and had diet changes) and now the next generation here. They are all getting way taller very quickly with improved diet and other outcomes.

There is also some other stat about the rise in poor eye sight due to the World Wars. Guys with bad eyesight were more likely to not go off to war and hence bred their genes more.

Personally have been shocked here and there when met former AFL ruckman from past generations and realised I was about the same height as them, but then I meet Charlie Cameron and he's my height

Or in fact, a better life.
We could all do with a dose of nature every now and then.

So war is 50 / 50 good / bad. Bad because you could die, good because you have less chance of getting type 2 diabetes? 😜👍

We are also living a lot longer but is the quality there, aged care needs are expanding rapidly. From my experience with aged care facilities they are for a lot of the residents gods waiting room and not much else.

Hopefully the frees go according to this list for our next game.

I knew a religious lady (pastor type) whose prayer for the older folks like that was 'either heal them or take them home' ... one day the family of one of the oldies she was praying with came in while she was praying and totally hit the roof and kicked her out ... five years later she walked past a room she was in and popped in to say hi - she regretted every day of the last five years and wished she hadn't let them interrupt. They resumed the prayer and she died that night (ready to go + release ritual done!).

There is an old saying, "Everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to get on the next bus" ;)

Far be it from me to ever give Eddie McEverywhere a plug... but this is quite decent. When do we start? Besides 2 weeks ago 🤦

I know I am in the minority but I am a big fan of Eddie, as long as he isn't talking Collingwood. I even like him as a commentator, he is someone who just loves footy and it comes across when he commentates, we can't say that about most current guys IMO.
