Not sure where to ask this so I figured I'll ask here.

We got tickets and accommodation to the Collingwood vs Brisbane game Aug 2. Just wondering what the best pub is (kid friendly) to head to before the game.

Most pubs in Fitzroy are relaxed and sort of family friendly but I don’t know of any that have a specific kids area. Fitzroy is a good kilometre from the G. Other posters might have suggestions on the Richmond side of the G.

You might like to try Roccella Italian Restaurant, in Clarendon Street, East Melbourne. Try the meat ball pizza. 500 metres to the G.

Logan Morris (BRIS)

“I think what Morris has done is pretty unbelievable in his first 18 months of footy.
“I think you can’t underrate Logan Morris’ effort in the first season of football. To play in a premiership and to just keep better and better.

“The first game he ever played in an intraclub, there was a reserves team against the senior team.
“He was playing on Harris Andrews and Jack Payne and kicked four goals against them, in his first game of footy, weighing about 80 kilos, I thought ‘geez, this guy can play’.”
In 2025: 14 games played, 10 disposals, four marks per game, 30 goals

You could head to Crown & just leave the kids in the car... It's a secure carpark. Gamblers daycare.

LINCOLN McCarthy is on track to complete a remarkable comeback from knee surgery and be available for Brisbane before the end of the home and away season.

I know LARS recos are out of fashion, but it makes me wonder if that's what they did. Pretty sure I remember reading about an female Aussie sevens player who elected for it to make the Olympics - seems a similar scenario.

Edit: Never mind, I read the article.

2. BRISBANE LIONS (10-4-1, 113.4%)

Last week:
Ranked 2nd, BYE

The Lions had the bye, and unfortunately saw their ladder lead over the rest of the top eight closed as the contenders all won their Round 16 games. Full credit to Brisbane for doing as well as they have against a tricky fixture; compare their draw to Geelong and it’s night and day for two teams who were split by barely anything in a prelim 12 months ago! That draw against North Melbourne is currently saving the Lions from being 5th instead, but they can’t afford many slips on the run home. The next two weeks are critical; the Lions have only dropped six points in games against the bottom nine this season, and they need to keep that strong record going by beating Port Adelaide and Carlton (away). It will give them breathing room as their already-hard fixture gets even harder in the last six weeks of the season.

This week: Port Adelaide at the Gabba, Saturday 7:35pm

Lol, I knew they'd find a way to get us into their "premiership window" if we looked good - all it took was dropping out games against crap teams.

I liked Buckleys obvious observation something along the line of
"you have got the top 9 pushing up towards the premiership window and the bottom nine increasingly away from it".

Who would have thought that would have happened.

It's not always the way. One of the things that went in our favour last year was that many of the teams above us (specifically Carl/Ess/Coll/Fre) started losing more frequently in the latter third of the season, this impacting their Points For & Against rankings. So while it sounds obvious, it's not necessarily a given.
