The bone healing, while the main part of the healing process, is no the only part. While the shoulder is healing the player can not do any strength exercises with that arm. I would imagine a player would lose a certain amount of muscle mass while the shoulder heals.
Sure, but it wasn't a shoulder injury, it was a broken collarbone. Muscles can (to a degree) hold joints together, but not bones.

I went to 3-4 pre season training sessions and Allen Christensen was in absolutely superb physical condition and running on top of the ground but there was more to it than that ie. his voice/leadership/coaching was on clear display. Allen has only recently turned 26 so still at least 5 seasons left in him, if fit I think he will be a great addition to our side.

For the slow witted here, can you be more specific please.

Not every one has inside sources or can put Y + X = Z together
I don't have an inside source at the club.

The insinuation made by Lyon was that Christensen has done something (what that something was I have no idea) that he shouldn't have been doing or did something careless to re-injure himself when he knew he shouldn't have done that something.

Now whether Christensen did or not, I have no idea, was purely speculating on what Lyon said this morning, nothing more.

Seriously the one time I don't wear my Lions shirt or polo to Carindale and Schache, Rockliff & his Missus, Keays and William are outside Coles.

Glad I decided to go for a walk to get some exercise (and buy some Murray river salted caramel ice cream).

Would love to see one of the mods break out a "trade or keep" (for contracted players) and "delist or keep"(for uncontracted players) voting thread to get a gauge on how our board rates our list. Should only be able to vote if your brissy supporter (if that can happen). Would create the thread myself but as I told jason pm I am f%@#ing useless when it comes to computers/on the line;)

This man's name was mentioned in another thread earlier today and after a quick search found this:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/localfooty/whittlesea-signs-former-western-bulldog-and-brisbane-lion-justin-sherman-to-twoyear-deal-as-playing-assistant-coach/news-story/a7d6cfdd647708a6c7b1a070298452ca
Whittlesea signs former Western Bulldog and Brisbane Lion Justin Sherman to two-year deal as playing assistant coach
WHITTLESEA has boosted its hopes of Northern Football League Division 1 consolidation with the signing of former Western Bulldog and Brisbane Lion Justin Sherman.

The 28-year-old returns to Melbourne after steering Goulburn Valley Football League outfit Kyabram to this year’s grand final. Sherman has signed a two-year deal with the Eagles as a playing assistant coach to new mentor Jim Atkins. Sherman said he wanted to have a long association with Whittlesea, adding he hoped the Eagles would be the last club he played for.

“They seem to be in a really good position now to be able to have a really good, solid crack to stay up in the competition,” Sherman told Local Footy. “Just the outlook from Jimmy Atkins the coach and where he wants to take the footy club over the next few years, it’s a really exciting one. “Being a local guy, it was just a no-brainer in the end to sign at Whittlesea and be a part of something that’s hopefully going to be pretty special in the future.”

Sherman’s post-AFL career has included stints at Williamstown, Essendon District Football League side Pascoe Vale and Kyabram. He played 21 games in the GVFL this year, booting 26 goals.

“I felt like I was pretty consistent this year for Ky,” he said. “Coming off the last three years of interrupted seasons with injury, it’s good to know that everything is under control now, the body’s fit and healthy. “I got through a whole season for the first time in a long time ... for me it’s onwards and upwards from here now. “I’m really looking forward to playing the whole year with Whittlesea and trying to lead by example every week for their kids.”

Sherman featured in 138 AFL matches over an eight-year career at the top level, which ended in 2012 after his delisting by the Bulldogs.

Eagles president Nathan Croughan said the club was thrilled to secure a player with Sherman’s ability and experience. “Whittlesea is not the team that has gone after big names previously, we’ve tried to nurture the homegrown talent,” Croughan said. “We’ve done that exceptionally well over the course of the last four years. “Being able to bring somebody in from outside the system in both a playing and coaching capacity is going to be huge for the club.”

Whittlesea won this year’s NFL Division 2 premiership in a pulsating decider against Lalor, earning promotion to the top grade in 2016. The Eagles have also signed Coburg VFL best and fairest winner Jai Robinson, who will play fulltime in the NFL next year.
Wonder how involved the Worm was in the all-in-brawl resulting in Ali Fahour's life ban. FWIW, Sherman is still playing with Whittlesea.

Good to see Nick Robbo got on the front foot and talked to Fagan.

Nick Robertson was suspended for this headbutt on Trent Cotchin

RELATED
BRISBANE Lions coach Chris Fagan said there was no need to have a chat with Nick Robertson after being suspended earlier this week – the rugged utility beat him to it.

Robertson will miss his first game of the year on Sunday when the Lions host Carlton after he accepted a one-match ban for head-butting Richmond captain Trent Cotchin.

"He came and had a chat to me," Fagan said.

"He thought he went a bit over what was acceptable and he’ll take his punishment on the chin."

On Monday, Lions captain Dayne Beams said he loved Robertson’s aggression, but the 22-year-old would have to make smarter decisions in the future.

"He’s been fantastic for us this year," Fagan said.

"A real warrior, a real competitor, and we’ll look forward to having him back in the team."

Tough defender Darcy Gardiner has made a rapid recovery from his dislocated elbow sustained just over two weeks ago and is expected to be picked to play the Blues.

Fagan said Brendon Bolton’s men presented a difficult challenge, with their tight defence and disciplined approach.

"They’ve been on their journey a bit longer than we have.

"They started last year with 'Bolts' and are a bit more progressed than we are.

"Fundamentally we’ll play our way and not get caught up in what they’re doing.

"I think we tend to play better when we focus on what we do."

I swear I saw him in the domestic food and drinks bar... Spitting image. I too thought he was doing the deadly choices presser that a why I thought it was weird.
I wonder if Swanny can get the Springfield facilities over the line. Whether he might look at other opportunities at the end of the year or next.
He was originally put in place by the Afl to get it over the line.
The Afl are looking far a new football operations manager. Not sure if that is his thing though.
Mind you, I don't want him to go.

Something tells me he could be on the move or at least looking. Nothing but gut feel though. He seems like a bloke who doesn't like to stay too long in one area and enjoys taking on challenges. Noble waiting in the wings...
