*ahem* now usually I would like to think of myself as someone with pretty good taste in clothes. However I do have a penchant for the odd football shirt or ten. Does anyone else think they are a fashion no-no, is it a little odd that I own so many, and what is the most obscure one you own?

I have the following:
2 Nottingham Forest home shirts (one old one)
1 Ajax away top
1 Old Liverpool top
1 Italian National Home Shirt
1 Wales away shirt
1 Australian National Home Shirt (the old one from the early 90s... you know the one that looked like someone had vomited over themselves)
1 Perugia away shirt
1 Barcelona Home Shirt

Should I seek help?

G.

I can't believe you own one of the Aussie tops from the early 90's!!!! They were shocking!

I have 3:
1. Away Liverpool top - white with red.
2. AC Milan top - complete with Robert Baggio's number
3. Australia top - my favourite one, it's the gold one with the green swirl (Coke logo)

GH,

I was 16 when I bought that thing. I'm willing to sell it to some lucky person to wear to the WC qualifier, seeing as I can barely squeeze into it now...

Don't expect it to be there when you get home! :D

Does anyone know where you can buy soccer shirts with Name and Number on the back in Melbourne? I know i can get them over the net but it'll cost me an arm and a leg. :(

Yeah, it's a ripper, long sleeve as well! :D

Nah, actually it's a fake I bought from a market in Milan- i think it cost 30,000 lira!! But it's been fine since then, it's usually my training top during the soccer season.

As for the Australia top - I'd buy it if I didn't love my own already!

I've got:

1 Manchester United Home jersey from around '95 (folks bought it so I wear it occasionally even though I don't like ManU)
1 Tottenham Hotspur Away jersey
1 Wimbledon Home jersey
1 Liverpool Away jersey
1 Brazil jersey with Ronaldo 9 on the back
1 Australian Away jersey (green in the centre panel, dark blue on the sides)

I always wanted one of those Australian vomit jerseys! ;) :D

At the moment I have the 99/00 Averton Away Guernsey.
And the Paok home guernsey

But I may buy the inter away Guernsey, its a gem! ;)

Chris;
If you're brave enough, theres a shop in Dandenong that sells
replicas of varying quality.
Last time I was there (Feb2001) they had a good selection of
teams & countries,all around $20.
Originals are hard to find & so expensive here.
Anyway its in Walker Street, just over Lonsdale,or was anyway.

It's my dream to own a Slavan Bratislava tracksuit top like in the 80's song by an English group (can't remember who)

Ok I have...

97 Australian home shirt (with the coke swirls)
97/98 Man United home shirt
97/98 Man United 3rd shirt (blue with black and white)
98 England WC shirt
99 Man United training shirt (black)
2000 England shirt, with 7 Beckham on back all official (brought it at the Soccer expo at the Exhibition Buildings, anyone go to that?)

How many of them do I actually wear though? Well occasionally my 2000 England top and maybe my Australian top at sports events, but football jerseys aren't the greatest fashion item in my opinion.

I with out a doubt have the most odd soccer shirt. I have a Naxxer Lions shirt. They play in the prestigous Maltese Soccer League. I also have Arsenal's last two home shirts and their last 4 away shirts. I just got Arsenal gold away shirt, it looks a little weird. We are gonna look like idiots if we wear gold and win nothing.

Two....1983 arsenal home, tiny little jvc on it

A true classic in every way-I remember it fondly.
Windy do you also remember the away strip from about this time, may have been 82/83,it was a truly garish garment in the same style as the home kit but a bright emerald green replaced the red & the sleeves & shorts were dark blue.Arsenal managed to go the whole season without winning in this kit, which is no surprise as the players were probably so embarassed that the last thing they would have wanted was for the ball to come any where near them whilst wearing this monstrosity,at the end of the season the kit was slung out never to be seen again which was unusual for those days when a particular kit design would usually last for quite a few seasons.

Perhaps it's only serious rival was the Arsenal away strip from the 90/91 & 91/92 seasons-this strip known as the 'predator' (anyone who's seen the film will get some idea why) was yellow with a zigzagy blue design & perhaps goes down in history as the worst shirt to grace English football.
The only consolation is that we've never worn pink shirts like Juventus did before they borrowed a load of Notts County black & white shirts & decided to stick with that design.

I have:

One yellow Leeds shirt (change strip)
One AC milan shirt bought in Italy (from one of those dodgy little stores) with Leonardo on the back
One Chelsea home shirt
One Spain shirt
One Germany shirt

i have:

1 fake italian black (?) national team shirt
1 fake 1999/2000 Newcastle Utd home shirt

i will soon have

Newcastle Utd 2001/2002 home and away shirts ($130 each)

and if IF australia qualifies, I will buy the shirt, and i will go to Japan for WC2002.
