There used to be a good UK-based talk board, with contributors from the US, Europe and elsewhere as well, called 40% Football. I hadn't visited it in a while, and when I tried the link last week, it didn't work. :(

Has anyone heard of it?

I use soccernet, which is great, or

www.sportinglife.com

which is also good but maybe a bit slow sometimes. Its not just a soccer website mind you but it gives it good coverage.

Soccernet is the best for comprehensive information, and articles from press all over the world, but Sporting Life's live scoreboards are usually a couple of minutes ahead of Soccernet's.

Definitely true here. When I said slow - I meant that it takes ages for the page to load on some computers, but its true that the score updates are ahead of soccernets (which in turn are way ahead of UEFA.com when there are european games on!)

I've gone off Soccernet entirely. They have become a lot like the British tabloids. All season they were reporting unrest in the Liverpool camp...first with Fowler...the Owen...then back to Fowler. That they were threatening to leave the club and such. Fabricated rifts beween the players and Houllier, without producing a single quote.

Tabloid journalism at it's finest. I don't need to listen to that.

Used to visit KopNews (http://www.kopnews.co.uk), now i visit:

http://www.lfcworld.com/ http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/ http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/

All other general football sites i visit have alread been mentioned.

Exactly right....read Soccernet with a grain of salt. You'll often find that the fan run sites (like Red Issue at www.redissue.co.uk for United fans) will run stories taken from media sources and put their own analysis on it. I'm not sure how Kopnews compares to Red Issue, but if it's anywhere near the quality of the Red Issue site, then that would be the place to go for all your Liverpool news.

For laughs, go to the Manchester Sh*tty site, www.blueview.co.uk for plenty of hilarious ramblings and conspiracy theories on Manchesters's most MASSIVE club. :D

Footbal 365 is my homepage in the summer months. Good overall coverage, some of the gags in the "Fun" section are priceless, especially about Phil Neville or David May (yeah, they're easy targets, but so's Dan25 :D ).

The score service that links to Sky Sports seems to be pretty good speed-wise.

Soccernet/Daily Express did exactly the same thing to Sunderland by inventing rumours of Kevin Phillips demanding a transfer (to Arsenal or Leeds apparently.) Peter Reid went on Sky TV in England with Phillips and they asked the journo in question on a Footy Talk Show exactly where he got the rumour from. He basically admitted it was from a friend of a friend of a friend.

I've never read it since.

a good one is

If you want a bit of banter with opposition fans, you can find basically any clubs sites at the Football Message Board Finder:

http://members.tripod.com/~andychapman/homepage.htm

but the best remains.........

http://www.ready2go.net ;)
