2022 Leadership Group is yet to be announced.

There is nothing to complain about on Footscray’s 2021 season as they went undefeated through ten games winning games against Geelong and Casey to be named the minor premiers. Their season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic but they were a real chance to win the premiership.

Joel Garner and Josh Patullo are the biggest off-season signing news for the Footscray Bulldogs as both come from South Australia with Joel bringing four games of AFL experience and Josh returning to Footscray after 34 games at the SANFL level.

The Bulldogs also brings in an array of former NAB League talent as they strive to find a spot on an AFL list.

Essendon Bulldogs (12.5 77) def. Footscray Bulldogs (8.7 55)
Wednesday, 23rd of February @ The Hangar

Goals: Jordan Sweet 2, Rhylee West, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Ewan McPherson, Chance Doultree, Charlie Parker, Jamieson Ballantyne
A fast start but a slow end cost the Bulldogs in their opening practice match with a 22-point loss being the final margin.

Footscray Bulldogs (6.7 43) def. by Werribee FC (12.12 84)
Friday, 4th of March @ Whitten Oval

11 AFL-listed players for the Bulldogs was not enough to get over stand-alone Werribee as they suffered a 41 point loss.

Footscray Bulldogs (15.9 99) def. Casey Demons (8.17 65)
Thursday, 17th of March @ Whitten Oval

The home side was able to get their first win of the pre-season as they defeated Casey by 34 points and with a team that looks similar to what will line up in round one. Things might not seem as bad as they looked in earlier weeks

The Footscray Bulldogs will be excited to continue their undefeated streak as they begin the 2022 season against the Sydney Swans at home and follow it up with another home game in the second round before back-to-back away games follow to start their travelling in 2022.

An even split of nine home and away games that include two interstate trips to meet the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants in the second half of the season headlines their fixture but if the Bulldogs are set to continue as a dominant team into the 2022 season the Frankston Dolphins and Port Melbourne will be happy to avoid them.

This may be a stupid q, but why don't we play Frankston or Port Melbourne?
22 rounds and 4 byes mean that there are 18 games to be played against 20 oppositions. Each club don't play two other clubs.
Why though? Only the league knows. There are going to be byes due to an odd number of teams, I assume they then tried to even those byes across the competition, and also I assume that some byes are there to help reschedule games in the case of COVID mayhem.

It's really sucked for us so far this year!
It was very interesting that Footscray's media team were silent over pre-season showed up for one pre-season game and then disappeared again, but then again that's still better than a lot of the AFL-Affiliates so far this year.

yeah it was odd.

A few years back we had great fan engagement. Someone was regularly updating the VFL twitter with scorelines & plays.

I suspect COVID cuts have played a part of it.
