I've never bothered reading any books relating to footy or more specifically AFL.

Anyone recommendations?

Recent or new it doesn't bother me as long as I can buy them easily.

I made this thread on the M&E board but didn't get any responses, so I'll try my luck here.

Only ever read the Kouta and Ben Cousins biographies. Decent reads.

But in seriousness The Draft by Emma Quale is an excellent read. Follows the lives of Cotchin, Ebert, McEvoy, Vespremi and Rioli before they get drafted. Highly recommend for all footy fans.
 
I forget the name of it exactly, but Dyson Hore-Lacy's book about Fitzroy's final years is a very interesting, if sad, read.

You inevitably come away from it with little respect for the AFL as an organisation at the time, and in particular a few individuals.
