Footy Classified 2022

I'm sure this gets said every year, but why is the show before the Grand Final always the last one for the year? Surely you'd do a post GF show.
Why even stop when the season stops? Most of their content has nothing to do with games, especially the Monday night show. Wednesday at least has Lyon try to do a bit of game analysis.

There’s still so much going on that the show wouldn’t drop in quality in the off season. Even get a chance to try some new presenters.

Well especially with what's going on with Hawthorn. You'd think you'd go to end of trade day considering it's Hutchy's "element". Will never forget his ingenious idea for the Bulldogs trade for Rance and let him take a paid year off football, before he even plays a game!

Cheers.

Hutchy gave two reasons:

1. Can't be bothered.
2. "We're a show about the stories around the game" - like there's not plenty to talk about 48 hours after the Grand Final.

There's enough stories to keep them going for a while.

[*] Essendon appoints a new coach and CEO. The issues surrounding Kevin Sheedy to publicly state his support for Hird and his position on the board.
[*] Joel Selwood retires.
[*] Trade news.
[*] Hawthorn and the ongoing racism saga.
[*] The coaching futures of Clarkson and Fagan, and whether North and Brisbane have backup plans if Clarkson and Fagan are forced out of their jobs.

Surely along with other stories that I've gone blank on, that's enough to have an hour long show until the end of the trade period.

Footy shows do tend to limp to the line though - I can't watch the Sunday Footy Show past about early August - McGuire didn't even turn up for most of the finals shows and the Wednesday one dropped a few of their segments.

Probably just once a week however, should absolutely run the show until at least the trade period is over imo.

They run out of ideas and need to rest. So :)
