Footy Classified reported tonight that sydney had 19 men on the ground at the 27 minute mark of the last Q .
Jolly was still on the ground when he should have been off,Jessie White had already come on,Jolly passed the ball to goodes who kicked to kirk who kicked the goal that was called a point.
Archer who is on the show had a decent sook about it saying if north missed the finals he will be sooking.

This is not good. As soon as i read that on the main board i got this terrible sinking feeling that the Swans are going to lose our 2 points.

We can't lose the two points. We might get a fine, but they cannot take the two points off us. The AFL rules do not allow for an after game challenge.

The captain of North had to get the umpire to do a head count on the day.
Thats it, end of story.

WHY can Sydney not go without a week of controversy?
Every week we seem to have something else in the media. If it is not Adam Goodes, it is tunnelling, Barry Hall, 19 men on the interchange .... thugs?

What the hell is going on?

I've got a bad feeling about this, and all the "Sydney are cheaters", "They'll get off cause they're Sydney", bullshit will all start again....

Next week it will be that through genetic enegineering Sydney Swans scientists have combined Adam Goodes and Paul Kelly's DNA to make several children and through the use of advanced genetics have made them grow at a accelerated rate until they reach 19 and next year the Swans will draft these test tube babies into the team using the Father Son Rule.

You can tell the Kangaroos supporters are very bitter about losing that lead yesterday. The way they're going on about it, you'd think we were a bunch of child molesters and Paul Roos was Hilter reincarnated.

A very amateur mistake and definitely should be fined. Can't see us losing the 2 points, but if it happens, so be it.

hey it could be a good thing in the end - controversy seems to work for us - if it motivates the guys to another September victory then I dont care how many other supporters say we cheated or are the AFLs pets or whatever, we'll know the truth and get another flag to rub in their faces! :p

Looks like it already has judging by the uproar on the Gold Coast board. Seriously, what a bunch of pathetic whingers. Get a life. They were robbed. We were robbed as well with Kirky's goal. Both teams didn't take their chances. It was a draw. Get over it and get a life.

They had to do a head count at the time but they didn't.....and we know they can't count anyway because they thought they had won the game when it was over.

Going on about all that "Sydney is boring" and "Sydney are the most protected team in the AFL" garbage. If we are boring, at least we have an identity. The Kangas are the most faceless team in the AFL. Judging by what is being dished up over there, I think we have new contenders for "worst fans in the AFL."

Mate, this is nothing to what it will be like in 5 years time. The whole game is under the microscope with every player movement both on and off the field being monitored and scrutinized. The public lap it up and want more and more. The general public want controversy. The high paid media and ex players are happy to give it. More and more people seem to have the mindset of blaming others for their failures. You dont need to look further than this week and the amount of whinging that has come from the North Melbourne supporters. There are very few comments about Norths inability to hold onto a 16 point lead with 10 minutes to go. Im sure youve read most of the comments and this week alone there are about 6 seperate whinges coming out of 1 game.

Not sure about you or others but for me it is taking the gloss off a truly great and unique sport.

It's all good for footy, however unbalanced and hysterical it can get at times. During the Hall-week, I personally would have liked to have seen more appreciation for what a truly magnificent left hook it was (easily the best punch in the history of the game was sadly overlooked in the hysteria of Staker's glass jaw and his mum's outburst). But in these times, these heavily sanitized PC times, you shouldn't really expect good balanced reporting such as that.

We arn't denying that. We probably shouldn't have let that lead go, but meh, that's all part of how the game is played.

The game should not be played with 19 players on the field - that's whats 'taking the gloss of a truly great and unique sport'

Your wrong 100%
The AFL has the power to strip your points OFF your club for that match and fine your club.

Hawks and Dogs have done this and got fined now Sydney do this and i believe you should lose points as this is setting a precedent just fining a club. The penalties have to be stronger to set an example of cheating.

I would like to see the black and white rules of the AFL standing up in the high court. Something tells me the AFL would lose, and it is something the AFL won't want to face embarrassment on.

The rules are black and white, in order to challenge you must do so on the ground, on the day.

Talking about the 'other' incident with Fremantle is a different case and can not be compared.

So good luck with Sydney losing the points, it won't be happening.

I like the pun;)

This strategy character seems to pop into most of the anti sydney threads.

I am from Sydney born and bred there .
The Sydney club receives too many favours from the AFL.
For your info rule 7.1B i think it is is that re : interchanges is that the AFL steward approves of all interchanges during matches.
He stuffed up and Sydney knew they had 19 on the field as did the steward .
The afl can but wont cause its Sydney take your points off you and give them to north.

Sure the AFL can TRY. But they risk opening themselves up to court action, where their own rules will be used against them and they will LOSE. That would be incredibly EMBARRASSING for the AFL.

It just won't happen. North are not even calling for the result to change. The Swans will get a fine, and this will disappear.

Sounds to me like the precedent is already set then.

I was trying to remember if this has happened before. Can anyone remember the details of these fines?
