I have good memories of Krak and Cloke in the first half of the 2011 GF, then my memory fades...I was there and recall telling my friends at half time that 'we have this in the bag'. Yeah right. Hubris I think it is called.

Agree TD especially 2011,that 2011 season was the beginning of the end of Jolly,he would have been a match for Ottens on 2010 form but he was already starting to break down that season and as we saw he never recovered that fitness again.Jolly could not jump and the writing was on the wall after someone like Kruezer put the cleaners through him which would not have occurred when he was closer to his peak but we did get a flag because of recruiting him so it was all good.
Just a pity he could not back up in 2011 because we would have been awfully close to the Cats if he had but it was a grave mistake playing him in 2011 and 5 mins in showed that.

Well in the VFL last season he was getting Destroyed

I watched it. Just an unfortunate day for us. The injuries during the season cost us, particularly the injury to Reid as is evident when Hawkins begins to tear Reid to pieces.

In the end of the day, the better side won. Not the result we wanted, but I can live with that. We were out on our feet and Geelong's class prevailed.

and Dickhead Mick did not put Tarrant on Hawkins

Should have definitely tried something. Reid was underdone and we needed someone to go with Hawkins as he single handedly won the game for the Cats.

That was Mick’s major Problem - Is that he never had Plan B

Our brains have a hormone that helps us forget bad memories, and i can't remember a bloody thing from this game.
Thankfully!
Now i'm gonna go watch the 2010 Replay!
All I remember is throwing a rancid hotdog at the umps from the third tier...o_O
Forgettable day.

All the footage from about halfway through the 2nd quarter had Tarrant on Hawkins and Reid on the resting ruckman. So the change actually was made?
Yes Tarrant initially started on Hawkins

When pods went down Tarrant went on to Stevie J, their inky attacking threat at the time, and quelled him......of course they then started directing the ball at Hawkins and that was the end of it.

This isn't remembered though, because let's hate malthouse

I think you are right. I have almost no memory of anything that happened in that match even though I was there.... same with the loses to the Bears.

I remember when Rusty kicked a goal to put us fifteen points up and I was hugging this bloke from Brazil who I worked with delivering food at the MCG. He was the runner, and I was the humble chip scoop. I screamed out because I honestly thought at that point the Pies might run away with the spoon. Evidently the Eagles already stole that, despite twelve majors from Le Cras against the Bombers

But I do remember the Pods injury, and this fella from the MCC whose son I worked with, running up and shaking me and saying "you blokes have it won" and of course I believed him

It might have been easier because Krakouer marked and slotted his third, and he and Cloke were quelled in the second half. I wonder where the delivery went to be honest, because the second part of the third and the last quarter is all a blur. I just remember Ling slotting it and thinking "well good luck at channel 7 you fanta pants flog orangutan". His mother should have smothered him at birth. She might have if she was not a freckled, bespectacled fat ranga mutant herself from the slums of Corio.

The game ended with me absolutely speechless on a bench on my food outlet, and utterly depressed despite a wonderful season gone horribly wrong. Definitely the one that got away

Nonetheless, I watched a bit of the first half a year or so ago, and immediately switched off after Sidebottom put us back in front in the third term. I was so hoping we would run away with the last, because we had had such a good record in last quarters in all games, including the Preliminary Final. Beating the Pretty Boys, the old Mayblooms, is always electrifying :D

Focus on winning today AEST I suppose. For me it is afternoon on a Sunday in San Antonio. Cannot wait to get myself back into AEST for the Doggies game next week. Hopefully this will be the thrashing in the lead up that awakens the Krakken in the Collingwood Football Club!!

Thankfully was away in Europe. Never seen this replay, never will. I couldnt bring myself to watch " what might have been "

The players need to watch this so things like this never happen again.

We can call certain circumstances as reasons for Geelong winning but at the end of the day, switching off that 1-2% was the difference. We should've won and we didn't. I hope this current group can rally and develop that killer instinct because we haven't shown it yet.

That moment where Christensen outmarks Toovey and Shaw will haunt me forever.

Still have it ingrained in my mind.

Unlike most, I've actually watched the match twice, it's such an underrated Grand Final, the first 3 quarters was some of the best footy I've ever seen.

Biggest turning point was when Jolly gave away the free kick for hitting the ball over the line on the full and Bartel's subsequent snap goal...

Agreed, the annoying thing is if you watch closely, the ball lands on the line but they pay it on the full anyway.

Was a big momentum-killing goal that one.

I think the Beams injury was underrated.

Can't get over how different the team in 2010 is to the team we watch today. Every second possession is a player no longer at the club!

And what about Heater's 8 weeks off in 2011, due to stupidity? Brought him back for the finals, because we had to, after a two month 'rest'. Not great preparation for a premiership campaign.

Maxwells 2010 drawn grandfinal is crimanally underrated, he was an absulote superstar.
