These were the club songs from the old TFL clubs in Hobart in the late 1980s.
In 1971 the TANFL clubs were released on the old Purity Footy Songs record.
In 1989 a company named Spectangle Productions rewrote most of the songs to update them to modern times, it went laregly unnoticed by the football public at the time as TFL grounds very seldomly ever played club songs up until about 30 years ago.

Clarence: (Glory, Glory Hallelujah)
"Clarence are the team to beat, I sing to you!
With the will to win and the strength to carry through.
Red and White colours make your heart beat true.
We're from the Eastern Shore.
Up the 'Roos and play your greatest.
We'll kick all the goals the straightest.
Opponents we will bowl you over, we're the mighty Kangaroos.

Loyal and keen to see the pennant flying high,
We've got a spirit our opponents can't deny.
Clarence always take the mark very high and wide,
Come on the Red and White!

Up the 'Roos and play your greatest.
We'll kick all our goals the straighest.
Opponents we will bowl you over,
We're the mighty Kangaroos!
Up the 'Roos and play your greatest.
We'll kick all our goals the straighest.
Opponents we will bowl you over,
We're the mighty Kangaroos!"

New Norfolk: (Road To Gundagai)
"There's a team on the track
Dressed in Red, White and Black.
We are the mighty Eagle team!
It takes a good team to stop us,
A better one to wop us.
And Hobart knows that's true.
If the Magpies ever head us,
We'll all come fighting back.
For we're fighting for our colours,
The old Red, White and Black.
Down the 'Roos and the 'Gulls,
And we'll bust the Robins' skulls.
We are the mighty Eagle team!

There's a team on the track,
Dressed in Red, White and Black.
We are the mighty Eagle team!
It takes a good team to stop us,
A better one to wop us,
And Hobart knows that's true.
If the Magpies ever head us,
We'll all come fighting back.
For we're fighting for our colours,
The old Red, White and Black.
Down the 'Roos and the 'Gulls,
And we'll bust the Robins' skulls.
We are the mighty Eagle team!"

Hobart: (Anchors Aweigh)
"Hobart forever boys, Hobart are we!
Home of a great tradition,
Where the premiership's our mission.
Hobart forever boys, answer the call.
Eat 'Em Alive you Tigers!
Hobart is the greatest team of all!

"Hobart forever boys, Hobart are we!
Home of a great tradition,
Where the premiership's our mission.
Hobart forever boys, answer the call.
Eat 'Em Alive you Tigers!
Hobart is the greatest team of all!
Hobart is the greatest team of all!

Sandy Bay: (California, Here I Come)
Seagulls, Seagulls, that's our name.
We're the boys that play the game.
The Tigers, the Robins, we've beaten them too.
The Eagles, the Magpies and even the 'Roos!
So come on, come on, win or lose.
It matters not to the White and Blues.
Seagulls, Seagulls flying high.
May the spirit never die!

North Hobart: (You're A Grand Old Flag)
"It's a grand old flag.
It's a high flying flag.
It's the emblem for me and for you.
It's the emblem of the team we love.
The team of the Red and the Blue.
Every heart beats true for the Red and the Blue,
As we sing this song to you.
Should old aquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the Red and the Blue!

Glenorchy: (Yankee Doodle Dandie)
"We're Glenorchy Boys, the Magpies.
The team of always do or die.
To top the ladder and to win the flag,
So as to bring our district fame.
Now we've the spirit to fight on with,
Until the final bell rings out.
We play the game with dash and courage,
Fair and law abiding,
We are the good old Black and White!

We're Glenorchy Boys, the Magpies.
To win the premiership is our main aim.
Of victory, we must always be assured,
When for the ball, the big men fly.
When the final bell is over, that's the time to celebrate.
Magpies always flock together.
We are a happy mob forever.
We are the good old Black and White!

North Launceston: (Sunny Side Up)
"See the Robins fly up, up.
To win the premiership flag.
Our boys all play this grand old game.
Always striving for glory and fame.
See the Robins fly up, up.
The other teams, they all fear.
They all try their best, but they can't get near.
As the Robins fly up!

"See the Robins fly up, up.
To win the premiership flag.
Our boys all play this grand old game.
Always striving for glory and fame.
See the Robins fly up, up.
The other teams, they all fear.
They all try their best, but they can't get near.
As the Robins fly up!

South Launceston: (You're a Grand Old Flag)
"It's a grand old flag.
It's a high flying flag.
It's the emblem for me and for you.
It's the emblem of the team we love.
The team of the Red, White and Blue.
Every heart beats true for the Red, White and Blue,
As we sing this song to you.
Whatta we sing?
Should old aquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the Red, White and Blue!

Burnie Hawks: (Yankee Doodle Dandie)
"We're a happy team at Burnie.
We're the mighty fighting Hawks.
We love our club and we play to win.
Riding the bumps with a grin, at Burnie.
Come what may, you'll find us striving.
Teamwork is the thing that talks.
One for all and all for one's the way we play at Burnie.
We are the mighty Burnie Hawks.

"We're a happy team at Burnie.

Riding the bumps with a grin, at Burnie.
Come what may, you'll find us striving.

Devonport: (Lily Of Laguna)
"We are the Navy Blues.
We are the old Dark Navy Blues.
We're the team that never lets you down.
We're the only team from Devonport Town.
With all the champions, they like to send us
We'll keep our ends up.
And then they'll known that they've been playing,
Against the good old team in Blue!

After 1989, Spectangle Productions completely rewrote the New Norfolk club song, and although it was played at most grounds, they continued to play their original tune at their home ground at Boyer.
Also their players sung the original tune after a victory.

New Norfolk: (Statewide League version)
"There's a team on the track,
Dressed in Red, White and Black.
We are the mighty Eagle team.
It takes a good team to stop us.
A better one to wop us.
All Tassie knows that's true!
We will never weaken, we'll come fighting back.
For we're playing for our colours,
The old Red, White and Black.
We're a side that's so mean,
We're a football machine.
We are the mighty Eagle team!

In 1998 North Launceston became Northern Bombers for the next ten years and permanently changed from the Robins to the Bombers and thus, reworded their clubsong dropping the word "Robins" and replacing it with "Bombers" in 1998.
They resumed as North Launceston in 2009 when they joined the TSL and simply use the Fable Singers Essendon recording now.

In 1995 after Burnie Hawks and NTFL club, Burnie Tigers amalgamated, they became Burnie Dockers.
The Dockers kept the Hawks' Yankee Doodle Dandee tune but changed verses such as "Mighty fighting Hawks" to "Dockers from the Coast".
This is still in use as of 2021.

In 2001 after the collapse of the TFL Statewide League competition, Devonport returned to the NTFL and began reusing their original NWFU theme song of "Good old Devonport forever" and resumed playing in their traditional Magpies colours which they had to abandon upon enterimg the TFL in 1987 due to Glenorchy already using it at the time.
This is still in use as of 2021.

Would anyone happen to know the lyrics to the original 1971 Purity version of Glenorchy's song?

What this the tie in between the Herald Privilege/3DB records and the Melbourne Herald
Were these promotional giveaways ?
When were these were made?
From the label it looks early 1960s

I've atually been searching for some of those songs. Richmond and Carlton's are the only ones on YouTube.

The Buffaloes FC song tune is basically
Mademoiselle from Armentières + Old Soldiers never die
however, there are bits from other songs
"How do you do?" appears to be one of them:

Theses (3) are all songs from the (war) trenches

East St Kilda Who were they?

Glenelg Song circa July 1926

East St Kilda was a so-called Junior club - not junior in terms of the age of it's players, but simply in terms of it's status (i.e. not a senior (VFA) club). They seemed to do rather well, and must have been quite a prominent club.

This is from The Footballer 1879:

They didn't disappear then at all, but played on the following year and were still playing in 1889. After that I'm not sure.

Is there a recording of the Sturt song the lily of laguna version from the mid eighties somewhere (other than the Pembroke one)

I've been trying to find a copy for quite a while. I think there's an old Sturt-Port game on YouTube where you can faintly hear the song in the background.
