Read a few posts about the game today and some of the moronic posts about certain players. For those who are under 15 or just plain stupid, here are some points to consider before you post:

1) We do have some weak players on our list. Remember, we have been down the bottom for the last 5 years. These players are trying their guts out - whatever the result.
2) These players prob wont be in our best 22 in two years time. - but, they gave us a realistic shot at Sydney today.
3) Their replacements (1st/2nd year draftees) would get 5 possessions at most, and destroyed against a side like Sydney. They can only be introduced from time to time for experience.
4) Overall, think about how far we have come. Sydney could toy with us over the last 3 years. For the first time, we put up a huge fight! The future (even just next year) is looking awesome.

I't doesn't matter if they are trying their guts out, if they aren't up to scratch then they don't deserve to be there. I respect many of our workhorses for trying their guts out, but they simply are not good enough to play for our team. We have accepted mediocrity for far too long.

2) These players prob wont be in our best 22 in two years time. - but, they gave us a realistic shot at Sydney today.
No they didn't, about 5 players gave us a realistic shot at Sydeny today. The others just hung on and were there for the ride. Today was nowhere near a team effort.

3) Their replacements (1st/2nd year draftees) would get 5 possessions at most, and destroyed against a side like Sydney. They can only be introduced from time to time for experience.
Not really, there is many rookies pushing for selection. Pfieffer has been on fire, and hampson has been playing very well. You award spots primarily for form - many players are currently not in form and are still gauranteed spots when they shouldn't; Russel and Carrazzo prime examples.

4) Overall, think about how far we have come. Sydney could toy with us over the last 3 years. For the first time, we put up a huge fight! The future (even just next year) is looking awesome.
The future is looking great, i agree. But there is still a lot to be done.

We are going to be a great team no doubt about that. I am happy with what the boys have done this year. But if you can dispose of the ball over 20 meters to a target then you are going to drag down the rest of the team. We will make the 8 next year that's for sure. We have a great crop of young stars who are getting confident and learning every week. But we still have players who we need to get rid of. But like I said I am happy with the commitment from the guys a few mistakes always kills us and it has happened against every team we have played in the top 8. And the sad thing is that the mistakes are from the same players week in week out and some have been on our list for a while now and still haven't learnt.

And think of the upside - you only need one hand to count our good players today and yet we lost by 2pt to the fourth best AFL team
It's a good point.

Carrazzo was named in the best players on AFL.com.au. They where obviously scratching to come up with that last name.

Mate, Carrazzo, Russell and Cloke have had numerous chances to show that they belong in the 22. But, the thing is, they don't. They've been given numerous chances, and shown nothing for it. It's time to give players like Armfield, Browne, Hampson, Pfieffer and co the spotlight.

I agree with you 100% every player out there gave it their best today but why are we pesisting with Jordan Russell? Wiggins? Fisher? Carrazzo? some of our more experienced players yet they are the ones who have no good decision-making qualities.

Bad luck for you boys today. The Blues were a formidable opponent and I wasn't confident until the siren sounded. Few points:

= You can keep Fev. :p Great player but his undisciplined acts are just so selfish. You can tell he hates the Sydney players too, so I wouldn't worry about his move north of the border.

= I'm terrified of playing you blokes in a years time. Gibbs is just starting to show his A-Class every week, and Judd with a full pre-season behind him and a confident and experienced Gibbs, well, I'll be shitting myself next year.

The Blues are my second team, love 'em. You have alot to look forward too. = )

Great OP, it's a shame the vast majority of posters on this board these days are a pack of idiots who predictably turn this board to shit with kneejerk responses after every loss we have.

Imagine if we had've WON by two points.
