Hey all,

For those of us that have strategically planned to have trades come the business end of the season do you still go conservative now or attack now at the pre-lims to bolster the team even more?

My situation: i have dominated my league and i would hate to slip up in the GF so i want to save the two trades i have for next week. On the other hand i am ranked 298 and want to improve that as much as i can in the last 2 rounds. Is it time to pull the trigger?

What is everyone else planning on doing with less than 3 trades?

Now or never mate...i am ranked 809 and have 1 trade in hand..and come up against an opponent who has bartel and corey in midfield, tough but they could have shockers, well i'm hoping, trade to bolster, not just for the sake of trading!

yeah my team is solid, i too have corey and bartel, i don't really have any passengers except for hudson but i am 12k short of cox so i will just bite my tongue and grit my teeth like i have all year. Birchall is handy but plays sydney last game so i was thinking upgrade to lockyer, and then with my final trade upgrade ball to kornes.

They are trades i don't really need to do but it will certainly get me an extra 50-100 points for the last two rounds, hopefully compensating for my ruck problem. I have a bench player for every position so touch wood if i get an injury i can cover it. I'm thinking ill just trade this week!

Have two left, wanted to hold onto both but bloody Fevola and possibly Kerr has blown everything out of the water. Plus I have so much cash that I was going to use them for upgrading which now I won't be able to. A disaster.

Yeah this is the kind of story that is scaring me off using them this week!

Have two trades left.

One will be used for Kerr...

The other I will save for any injuries next week.

I think if you can field a team of 22 this week you should save your trades as there can be many injuries and a few 'resting' players in round 22...

Think he sat our the last quarter last game, but will be tested this week. In light of the kerr injury i will be making one trade and keeping the other till next week.

I've got 2 trades left, my ranking is nothing special so I figure I may as well aim to win my league. I advise planning your trades now - then it will be easier to decide whether to make them this week or next.
I'm really not sure what to do with my last 2 trades, have a few duds I want to upgrade in Bock, Warnock, Hall and X.Ellis (yes, he is starting for me :eek:) but I'm not sure which ones to do.

im nearly tempted to downgrade kerr to cross and upgrade hudson to cox, but after hearing of the kerr injury i think i want to keep a trade for injury next week. Ultimately i kept trades this end of the season for injury, so i guess that is what they are there for.

well at least you ave trades to complete your team, that's what i kept the trades for and now people will be playing 1-2 players down we can trade and make more ground up on them. So not all is lost

Are you focusing on league or overall? Not that that should matter now.

In a knockout game you have to go all out unless you're convinced you'll win. I thought that last week and saved trades and was nearly knocked out by a poor performing team...

And for overall ranking - at this late stage you want to get the benefit of the better players for longer, i.e. 2 games not 1. Take a risk, otherwise you won't really go up as much.

yeah dominated the league this season, should win comfortably which is why i want to take a risk and boost the team. Currently ranked 298th so want to bump it up as much as i can.

Mind you i've dominated the league that much this year if i choke in the GF i will NEVER hear the end of it from my mates... hahaha

My mates liken me to Port of a couple of years back... I dominated the last two years, never missed a GF, last year I scored 2000 more than anyone else, and my GF opponent pulled out a FREAK win. Ranking not important to me, so this year I took a middle of the ladder approach, didn't bother covering 1 or 2 week injuries etc.

If you take the risk, and the worst happens (lose a player or two), do you have the emergencies to cover? Are they any good? And, if not, will you still win? If so - do the trades this round for sure. Maybe crack the 250 ranking.

i had a slow start so was never flash in the overall rankings. wanted the league win so i saved up a few trades and upgrade money for each trade for the finals. worked thus far except with kerr's injury i can't use the upgrade money (was supposed to go to judd)! damn, that's the risk i guess.

my opponent has Judd and Selwood to cover in the midfield (same as me-Judd and Kerr) so I could take the risk, not upgrade Kerr, save my last trade for injuries in R22 or to get Corey (if his price drops by 5k). But that's too much of a risk.

Well Ive Decided im Trading

Harris --> Gilbee

Now my last trade

Kerr --> West(?) Swan(?) Hayes(?)

Im leaning towards Hayes because he is a gun. But West will score big, not sure if i can trust two dogs when they are out of the finals race.

Swan for me. I believe Adelaide has the highest number of 100's against this year, plus their game means the Pie mids will chip it around trying to get forward. Marks and kicks baby.

Don't be tricked into Hayes killing Richmond. The Tigers have a knack of limiting DT scores of late.

West is a reliable option, more so than Swan but Swan has the biggest upside.

You have been very helpful Zapp, thanks.

I do have emergencies to cover every position and while they are not guns they are good for at least 50. Smith Ellis in the backs, clarke hadley in the mids, darcy (yuk but i want cox this week) and tarrant in the forwards(yo-yo) it's a calculated risk and yeah i would like to crack 250.

I'm about 12k short of cox so i need to downgrade kerr to say someone like cross and then trade hudson. Decisions decisions, kornes is still very tempting!
