Which team is in the most trouble replacing its aging players? - 2020 edition
So this is a thread I have been creating for the last few years as I think it is an interesting topic where we compare the older players of each club, the ones getting closer to retirement and see what youth each club has to potentially replace the older stars. Stumbled over this thread on the main board, interesting read, with our clean out we are in good shape with older players, the unknown for us is the quality of our juniors because we haven’t exposed them.
Geelong are soon going to be in a world of pain, they better win a flag soon for their sake.
Even Richmond have some real stars ageing but at least they’ve won 2 and should be in the picture for the next couple.
I reckon within 2-3 years there will be a real changing of the guard and Carlton are going to have a good run.
Port's oldest three players are their best players (Boak, Gray, Westhoff). North Melbourne in a similar position (Goldstein, Higgins, Tarrant).
West Coast don't have too many stars over 30, but their midfield's lack of pace and defensive pressure is already starting to cost them.
