why it stopped in the first place is one of the most dissapointing things ever to happen in the tv industry in its history.

Such an institution, real characters, real variety, real entertainment, i miss the laughs

who else feels this way

why was it taken off, im not sure?

Ozzy Ostrich a real character???
Darryl Somers real????

I thought they took this turkey off TV because it was the same old tired thing every week that bored the pants off the general public. I'm glad it's gone.

It was soooo predictable you could almost sprout the repeated jokes at the same time as Blackman and Somers.

Good riddance.

Bring back Kingswood Country, now there's a thought...

I think 'Hey Hey' was getting a bit tired. Same old thing every week. It was good as far as being a Saturday night entertainment program, and a good place for overseas acts to perform and stuff, but it badly needed a new format.

If you're looking to resurrect an entertainment show with state by state rivallry (Excluding NT and Tasmania of course ;)) , look no further than "It's A Knockout!"

Thats the name of the game ;)

In the distance you can hear
the sound of the cheer
and the laugh and the roar of the crowd
You can feel the expectation,
and the wild jubilation
and the shouting the winners names aloud
'Cos it's the greatest game in town,
and it's the craziest fun around.
It's a Knockout! -- that's the name,
It's a Knockout! -- that's the game,
It's a Knockout! -- that's the name of the game!

The multimedia links are broken but there's some interesting stuff there including this:

More than 100 episodes of the show were hosted by Billy J. Smith and Fiona MacDonald. Their assistants included the dog Combat and Ellen and Shandell. The big question is.... where are they now? Does anybody out there know????? IAK had several celebrity referees, including Ricky May (RIP), Jon English, Lisa Curry, Edith Bliss, Grant Kenny, Melinda Rutter, Tiffany Lamb, Warren Blondell, Vince Sorrenti, Tracy Wickham, Jason Donovan, Mark "wandering hands" Warren, Daryl Cotton, Kerrie-Anne Kennerly, Kerrie Friend, Wayne Pierce, Jackie Love, Cameron Daddo etc... The show was filmed at Dural, near Castle Hill in New South Wales (Englefield Soccer Stadium, New Line Rd). We believe that IAK ended when its land was bought for use for soccer training.

Hey Hey It's Thursday?

Daryl - Eddie (host who is full of himself)
Red - Sam (the 'bad guy)
Dickie - Marmalade (smart acre with the one liners)

Regular international musical guests, highlighting idiots in the community (red faces/street talk), funny photos/Almost Footy Legends, make fun of anyone whose sexuality is in question (Molly/Roland/Gav & Wazz - cheap laughs), even the original had an appallingly acted 'comedy' soap.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
