Stats history: Robert Murphy (AFL Tables)

In a year when everything went wrong for the Bulldogs backline, Murphy was a shining light. His agility and experience enabled him to get the better of his opponent nearly every week, while providing valuable run out of defence (3rd in kicks and first in running bounces). His consistent form and high disposal efficiency (82% - impressive considering 7/10 disposals were kicks) saw him rewarded with a place in the All - Australian team along with captain Matthew Boyd. He finished runner-up in the B&F to Boyd.

He played his 200th game in a win over Adelaide in round 13 :D

Seems Murph is not a fan of that hack Lynden Dunn or his horrible mustache.

Martin Flanagan says that football is theatre and I agree with him. As the second half starts, a Shakespearean villain enters from right of stage in the form of Demon Lynden Dunn.
I guess from the TV it probably looks like dodgem cars hitting into each other; the truth is not that far away from that, to be honest. I want to stop Davey, Lynden wants to stop me, and around and around we go.
At one point I interrupt the niggle to negotiate a deal. ''I'll let you keep hitting me for the next hour if you explain the moustache for me.'' We squabble over the details of that contract for the remainder of the night.
My impact on the game drops away, but Davey (freakishly good goal aside) is quiet also. Who wins? That one could go round and round too.
