In that game someone holds the ball up in the air in defence when we're about 5 goals up - signalling we're going to slow the game down and keep possession till the break in the time on period of the 2nd quarter (was it Marcus Drum?) and Geelong kick the next 5 and take the lead. Pre-Ross Lyon tactics.
Oh yeah and Josh Carr gives Gary Ablett jr a corky with his knee that will get him suspended for 3 weeks.

Yep, Lost 8 games by 9 points or less. Crikey we were 1w (Derby) and 10 Losses going into Round 12 - and that was with an experienced team

Start of the rebuild. Experienced players at the end of their caper. Thought we finished 10-12, but 6-16.
Remembered it was Geelong by a point, then we went to Melbourne and absolutely choked the mother of all chokes. Up by 51 points at half time.
Atrocious fortnight, only loss by 1 point and 6 points but felt harrowing. Then the next week we choked again.

Took him a few years since leaving Freo to realise him and Fyfe was never going to be more than it is.

Former Fremantle wingman Ed Langdon is looking forward to having a familiar face at Melbourne, with Harley Bennell set to train with the Demons as he looks to revive his career.
Bennell moved to Melbourne last week with his family, having been delisted by the Dockers earlier this year after just two games in four seasons because of a series of injuries.
Two calf operations in recent months have given Bennell hope of getting back on the park and he reportedly met with key personnel from Sydney, Geelong and Melbourne.

Langdon, who was traded to Melbourne last month after 63 games in five years at the Dockers, said he had spoken to Bennell and was excited for his “opportunity”.
“I think he’ll be here in a couple of weeks, so I look forward to training with him,” Langdon said.
“Hopefully he can get his body right, as we know how good a player he can be.”

Former Fremantle forward Max Duffy has continued his rise through US college football ranks, with the University of Kentucky star shortlisted for a prestigious national punting award.
Duffy, who played three games for the Dockers before being delisted at the end of 2015, has been named as one of 10 semi-finalists for the US college system’s Ray Guy Award, presented annually to the country’s top punter.
Duffy has set records and earned national recognition for his punting with the University of Kentucky, with the Wildcats describing him as an “absolute weapon” for the team with his “booming and accurate leg”.
The 26-year-old leads Kentucky’s division for punting and ranks No.2 nationally for his role. He is also UK’s career punt leader.
Duffy was an elite junior sportsperson, representing WA in basketball at under-16 level before joining the AFL Academy in 2010.

He was overlooked in three national drafts before the Dockers pounced with pick No.39 in 2012 after a strong WAFL season with East Fremantle.
Duffy joined West Perth once his AFL stint ended but left after one season, relocating to Melbourne to join the national academy that trains prospective NFL punters, Prokick Australia.
The Ray Guy Award is awarded using key punting statistics, with an emphasis placed on net punting average.
“The winner must display team leadership, self-discipline and have a positive impact on the team's success,” the Wildcats said.

I thought Duffy looked terrific when he finally got a game with us. Never understood why he wasn't given more opportunities.

This guy must be having the time of his life, playing football in a great old college town. Only downside would be having to buy the drinks when he's hanging out with his teammates!
Yeah, how come we never knew about his "booming and accurate leg"?
well from memory he kicked a 50M pass from out near the boundary and hit someone in front of goal in that game he did play so it wasn't hard to spot.
Clearly he wasn't laying enough tackles or meeting KPI's in running or something. Talent was there. But of course we weren't seduced by that.

Becuase a punt in the NFL is a good kick in the AFL. In the NFL it's all about how long it is in the air, in AFL you kick like that and you get called Danyle Pearce.
