Bit of a pot shot at the loser culture at Freo though.
Then again, Melbourne have been losers for a long time too, every dog has it's day
In the end it is a bit of useless talk. He was just lucky to end up in a team rising up the ladder so quickly. Good for him bad for us. Everybody knows It could as well have been the other way round.

The West Australian sports reporter Jordan McArdle takes a look at what’s happening in the country and amateur leagues around WA in his weekly column.

Ex-Docker BOG in Goldfields decider
Former Fremantle midfielder Rhys Palmer inspired Kalgoorlie City to a Goldfields Football League grand final win over Boulder.

The Kangas sent Colin Rule into retirement as a three-time premiership coach after holding off Boulder by five points, 14.5 (89) to 13.6 (84), in an epic with Palmer winning the Fyson Medal as best on ground.
Boulder looked done and dusted when they trailed by 20 points at the last change and conceded the first goal of the final term after just 55 seconds.
But they rallied for four goals and had their chances to edge ahead before time ran out.
Braden Piggott, made up for suspended key forward Cam Symonds absence, with a five-goal haul, with classy pair Dylan Clarke and Matt Farac kicking three each.

It nearly all came unstuck for Kalgoorlie in the last term after Boulder’s Jai Rout kicked two goals just moments apart and Matt La Fontaine and Cam Grover also kicked truly
The Tigers’ Connor Maris miscued a set shot inside the last three minutes and two Boulder players spoilt each other in a marking contest at half-forward with 100 seconds left.
Similarly, former Dockers rookie Michael Wood, after kicking three goals in the first term, couldn’t convert a last-ditch snap shot and the Tigers turned the ball over at half-forward in the dying seconds.
Jack Dasborough claimed the Subiaco Golds Award.

Kingsway clinch maiden A-Grade flag
Kingsway are the kings of the Perth Football League for the first time.
Twelve years after joining the competition from the Metro Football League, the Roos prevailed in their maiden A-Grade grand final appearance against Curtin Uni-Wesley.
Kingsway produced a 68-point turnaround from their 50-point loss to the Tigers a fortnight ago to prevail by 18 – 11.3 (69) to 7.9 (51).
The Roos led at every change, including by 13 at three-quarter time, but minor premiers Curtin Uni-Wesley wouldn’t go away, booting two goals in as many minutes in the final term to stay in the hunt.
Luke Halligan kicked the sealer at the 19-minute mark to share a flag with his older brother a dual WAFL premiership player Kyle, in his second season back at their junior club.
Kyle Halligan booted two clutch long-range goals, took a heap of marks around the ground and used the ball with his usual class by foot to put his stamp on the contest.
Braydn Furmark also kicked a couple and was the most consistent player on the ground, winning the BJ Giles Medal in the process.
Triple Subiaco premiership forward Rhys Waters was the main man in the midfield for Kingsway to cap off his debut season with yet another flag.
Waters did his best work up forward in the WAFL but was a clearance machine and at the bottom of every pack.
Last season’s WAFL colts Jack Clarke medallist Lachlan Vanirsen, and Rowan Brookes were also influential in the middle.
Ben Reid stood tall in defence, reading the play so well and rarely making a mistake, Jaxon McGowan provided the rebound from half-back.
Pressure forward Matt Jackson provided a late spark, with a massive tackle in the goal square before converting just before three-quarter time.
The State Amateur representative added his second early in the final term before Liam O’Connor joined the party with another against the breeze.
Former Essendon and South Fremantle livewire Cory Dell’Olio kicked a couple of classy goals for Curtin Uni-Wesley but his teammate and the competition’s leading goal-kicker James Corner went goalless in a rare quiet day.
Ex-Peel player Rhett Mason and former South Fremantle/West Perth speedster Shaun Bewick were also among the Tigers’ best, while Jack Bechelli battled admirably in defence.
Collegians won the first premiership of the day in the Phil Scott Colts, sending off their coach Andrew Fordham with a thrilling six-point triumph over University 6.8 (44) to 5.8 (38).
It was Collegians’ second colts flag in the past three years under Fordham to go with a losing grand final last year, with James Carrigg winning the best-afield medal.
In the A Reserves, Curtin Uni-Wesley prevailing over North Beach by four points in another nail-biting contest, 4.3 (27) to 3.5 (23). Kyle Wheeler earned best-on-ground honours.
Moore silverware for ex-Subiaco champ
Augusta-Margaret River have won their fourth South West Football League premiership, defeating Busselton by 40 points at Hands Oval, led by dual WAFL flag winner Simon Moore.
Despite a dire, goalless opening term, the Hawks led from then on, to win 10.6 (66) to 3.8 (26).
Notoriously the scoring end at Hands Oval, the Magpies had the ball locked at the Mary Street end of the ground, but couldn’t capitalise on the scoreboard, leading only by virtue of behinds at the first change.
Seve Grantis kicked the first goal of the game just minutes into the second quarter as the Hawks’ midfield of Simon Moore and Regan Smith began to take over.
For his midfield dominance and support in defence throughout the day, Moore was awarded the Pike Medal for best on ground, rounding out a famous double, having won the Hayward Medal just weeks before.
Moore joined Sebastian Donovan (1994) and Cody Miller (2011) as AMR Pike medallists.
Earlier in the day, Carey Park broke an 11-year colts premiership drought, thanks to a Lynn Medal-winning performance from vice-captain Griffin Hyde and two final quarter goals from Brady Leneghan.
A win for Bunbury in the reserves, led by returning forward Cameron Hay, ensured Busselton missed out on all three premierships.

Minor premiers upstaged in thrilling Peel decider
Same teams. Different ending.
Peel Football League rivals South Mandurah and Rockingham faced off in their second consecutive grand final, only this time the result was reversed.
The Falcons prevailed by six points in a thrilling decider in wet and wild conditions in Mandurah to avenge last season’s heartache.
South Mandurah’s Callum Dews was named best on ground with Dylan Mulcahy, Zach Moody, Thomas Dyer, Brody Wemm and Corey Tregenza-Cashell also contributing.
Jacob Ferrier (three goals) was the difference on the scoreboard in a low-scoring 6.9 (45) to 5.9 (39) result, with Wemm adding two.
Former Carlton player Brad Walsh, Max Layton, Brendan Cooke, Corey Rota, Shae Selkirk and Haydn Matthews fought gallantly for Rockingham, while former Swan Districts spearhead Leigh Kohlmann booted a team-high two goals.
The Rams were in all three grand finals on the day, defeating Pinjarra 9.5 (59) to 6.7 (43) in the reserves, but going down to Halls Head in the colts 12.8 (80) to 5.3 (33).

Ed needs to stop doing media, the take everything out of context for the poor bloke with some sh*te headline
Unfortunately for Ed (and most AFL players), the media landscape is now designed for negativity and falling out with ex-teammates. It creates more clicks. Ed clearly loved the club, and still clearly keeps in contact with most of his mates during his time here. It's pretty clear through the podcast, seeing him out with mates and even the off-field chats post-game. But the negativity feeds into the broader W.A. narrative "Freo bad. Freo no win flag. Freo lose player. Player hate freo. WC good. WC pure. WC fix Ben Cousin with love"

I agree, like with Jarrod Cameron. Imagine him leaving before his contract was finished with Freo. The Scum press would be jumping all over us.

WCE are a shambles off field atm. So much infighting. I have posted before that Simmo is too soft on a few which has pissed off a few VETERANS of the club. Simmos attitude after those beltings down in Geelong weren't receved well by a few Senior players who wanted him to put his foot down.

There's a big divide between the players and the coach. You can almost hear it in Schofields voice on 6pr, when he's talking about them. They are not who they were 3 or 4 years back internally.

It all started with the recruitment of Kelly i think.

That reminds me ImperialPurple...

We are moving interstate and downsizing shortly, and sadly I will not be able to take my beloved picture of Pav :(

My family and in-laws are all scum supporters, and I would like the great man to find a good home with a loyal Freo supporter. If anyone is interested PM me, as they say in the classics - free to a good home.

Sometimes being a Fremantle supporter is enough to drive me to the brink of giving my love of football away entirely, but it's the pure, wholesome characters such as Pav, Michael Barlow, Tendai Mzungu, David Mundy and Chris Mayne that remind me I'll love this club until the day I die!
