#8 Western Bulldogs

Age: 34yr 5mth Games: 194 Born: November 17, 1986 Origin: Sandringham
Height: 199cm Weight: 104kg Position: Ruck

Experienced ruckman Stefan Martin arrives at the Kennel on a one-year deal after spending the last eight years as a Lion, and the five before that as a Dee. With 190 AFL games to his name since debuting in 2008, the 34-year-old has a wealth of knowledge and is expected to play a mentor role to developing Bulldog rucks Tim English and Jordon Sweet. After 12 years in the AFL system, he finally played his first finals series in 2019, and was named Brisbane’s ‘Finals Player of the Year’ for his efforts. Prior to 2020, he had only missed four games across five seasons, highlighting his consistency.

Stefan retired today. Fair enough, getting long in the tooth and probably limited senior opportunities now that English, Lobb and maybe Darcy will be regulars in the team. Thanks for your contribution Stefan and all the best for the future :thumbsu:
