Just heard a rumour one of our players involved in a hit run accident

No further details / not sure how serious

Won't give the name I was told

Could be crap but source is pretty solid

Depends a lot on whether they were 'hit' or 'ran'.

The Port Adelaide Football Club has released a statement regarding reports one of their players was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Norwood overnight.
Media reports have surfaced a player was in a multiple-car incident, who then fled the scene.
The club has refused to comment on the specifics, but has said they are in talks with South Australian police over the matter.
"Police are investigating a hit-run crash at Norwood last night, after a white Commodore sedan collided with four parked cars and the driver fled the scene," SA Police News posted on Sunday morning.
"Just after 7pm, the white Commodore was seen to turn from Bonney Street to travel north on George Street, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collide with a parked ute pushing that vehicle into Toyota sedan in front. The Commodore continued down George Street then hitting an Audi sedan which was pushed into a BMW.
"There were no persons in any of the parked vehicles at the time of the crashes."

Port Adelaide's full statement:
"The Port Adelaide Football Club is aware of media reports alleging one of its players was involved in a motor vehicle accident last night.

"The club is in contact with South Australian Police and will not provide any further comment until it has all the information at hand."

Hope there is a simple explanation and it is not one of our players in our best 22. This all the club needs 😡

To your knowledge are they best 22 or a fringe player? It is not good either way, but I am hoping it is not someone in our best 22

It's a bit strange - you'd think alcohol was involved but it was only 7pm so not out late drinking etc. and this close to gameday you'd think any of the players that were fighting for a spot would not be drinking at all.

Why can’t these fellas keep their noses clean with so much at stake? Why?

This isn't new - this was the exact statement from Jarman Impey in 2016 off the Triple M website?
