The Forward line is starting to look potent again with Welsh, Bode and Hentschel all playing well on the weekend and looking threatening just need to improve the supply to these key forwards as for ROO give him as much time as possible in the middle

Only problem is Welsh gets a mark and first option is to pass

Trent still cant hold what should be simple marks.

He does drop a few, but when you're wrapped up in a bear hug or even something that resembles an octopus wrapped around you, unfortunately that will happen.

I don't think an attempt at trying to mark a ball with an octopus wrapped around you is deemed a "simple" mark. :D

Hentschell is actually a very very smart player. There was this one on one contest a few weeks ago, and the defender was try to spoil the ball but Trent pins the defenders arms to his chest, seamingly making it look like the Defender is giving Trent a bear hug. He gets the free and slots it through for a goal.

Good topic.

It's strange but I'm actually quite excited about our chances after last week. After Freo game I wasn't confident, but seeing the forward line work well together without Perrie, Kenny and Burton as further options is encouraging.

We have a great mix down there. Pez can play the linking lead-up forward between HF and wing, Henstchel, Burton and Welsh can all either play deep or roam around the forward 50, Kenny can provide a contest at either FF or CHF. And Bode is doing his job as crumber/forward line nuisance.

The defence is always going to be good once we get our best back 6 of Rutten, Johncock, Bassett, McLeod, Bock/Stevens and Hart/Massie/Torney/Mattner together again.

We really just need to get the midfield firing, which will hopefully happen with the return of Roo to the middle, possibly Hudson and a fresher Goodwin, Edwards, Thompson, Reilly, Shirley, Doughty etc once we start to taper off.

The next 2 weeks need to be used to get form and confidence back up. I'm still confident we'll be there on 30/9.
