Yep...and on last night's effort, he'll be flat out adding to his two games played.
Defend him all you like, dropping a regulation chest mark deep in the last quarter, turning it over and watching the Suns kick a goal cost us the game. Glad you accept mediocrity.

Yeah lets rate a player on 1 dropped chest mark. How Ridiculous

I think Jim Stynes made a bigger mistake than that in a preliminary final didnt stop him from being a champion of the game..cannot judge him on this one incident..

as i suggested the dropped mark wasnt noted, so that "one" incident isnt taken into account. I am talking about the other 7 incidents, i.e. disposals, another 2 that were his outs and 1 that was his tackle count, that stamps his file in my book. You gotta think of it this way dude. He was playing game 2 yes, but he was playing game 2 against a team full of kids and a few of them who were playing game 1 or 2 had an IMPACT!!

Look the dropped chest mark is unforgivable but it's not the only thing I am judging him on. The fact he has barely touched the football in two weeks is another and also his poor disposal and lack of presence.
face it, Derickz couldn't have an easier initiation than the Dees and Suns and he has failed to step up to the plate.
A sapte of injuries and suspensions and a lack of other options at Coburg where he played equally poor football gifted Big Tom his two games, he's done nothing to retain his place.

Obviously we have a problem with conversion. In our last five matches, we've won the disposal count and inside 50s every single time, often by huge margins. But all we have to show for it are two narrow wins.

v Gold Coast
Disposals: +51
Inside 50s: +12
Loss by 2pts

v Melbourne
Disposals: +61
Inside 50s: +21
Win by 23pts

v Adelaide
Disposals: +44
Inside 50s: +10
Loss by 29pts

v GWS
Disposals: +57
Inside 50s: +31
Win by 12pts

v Fremantle
Disposals: +10
Inside 50s: +15
Loss by 12pts

I don't think the solution is "delist Derickx" or "sack the coach." This should be a simple, identifiable flaw in our gameplay. And if we can iron it out, we're in great shape, because we sure can get the ball in there.

I expect close to nothing in anyones first 2 games. The reason you play them to begin with is to get them to 10+ games fairly quickly. That's when they start showing some more signs

Agree we need to iron out the efficiency in our forward line the game plan needs tweeking once we do this we will win by big margins..

Troy Menzel is a classy half forward that will go in the middle. Playing senior footy at SANFL, done very well in his two games for SA in country Championships, before getting injured. I think he kicked 9 goals against NT.
Strong Mark, penetrating, accurate kick

He's my pick so far. He will be a match winner. And it looks like we will be able to pick up 2 decent midfielders with our second round picks.

Out of curiousity, what did you think Big Tom gave us - nothing?????
If we're expecting nothing from a player - especially a mature-aged recruit, we might as well shut up shop now!!!
Bizarre logic!!
I'm sure the coaching panel look for signs, however, small, but positive ... not nothing!!!

He's 24, not 18. He never dominated games at VFL level, he rarely played well, and I've watched Coburg a fair few times this year. He came in based on our needs, not on his form. He has showed zero, not only has he not done anything, he's done his best to lose us a game! His impact is in the negatives!!!!!

If Derickx was a kid, who was a good player, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. But he's 24, his form at VFL was never good enough to warrant him playing AFL, and we're paying for it now.

That boy Ben Kennedy looks a similiar type, very much in the mould of Dr. Pink or a Brent Harvey and has a touch of arrogance about him and a very good goal sense, would love for us to pick him up with our first selection. Menzels injury problems worry me a little.

When I say nothing, I mean a few touches but no real influence. That's what you should expect in someones first game or 2. Any better than that's a bonus

I think you'd get more support switching back to the Postman MT.......

Wait.....maybe not!

You really need to watch more VFL games to see what players who are trying to force their way into the top 4 teams do. Derickx is at an age where he should be hittinghis peak (Post, at 22, does however have another 1-2 years). That is not real encouraging however much you want to talk them up. Unless you, and I suspect you might, believe VFL performance means nothing, and simply having them out in the main game getting AFL games exerience will see them lift to the required standard!! Graham shows that theory doesn't hold up.
